Plastic surgeon V.A. Vissarionov is the pride of Russian cosmetology.

He devoted 12 years to science, working at the Moscow Scientific Institute of Cosmetology. During this time, he defended two dissertations - a candidate's dissertation and a doctoral dissertation. In 1992, Vissarionov began practicing plastic surgery at the Center for Restorative Treatment for Children and Adolescents with Congenital Maxillofacial Pathology. This is not surprising - the surgeon wanted to restore faces to those who did not have them, and sick children needed treatment first. Soon he became the head of a plastic surgery clinic.

In 1998, Vissarionov received the position he holds to this day. He is the general director of the Institute of Plastic Surgery and Cosmetology.

Vladimir Alekseevich successfully combines administrative activities and intensive work in the field of surgery, annually performing more than 400 operations in the face and body.

He devoted most of his life to science. Vissarionov is the author of more than 300 scientific papers and has 22 patents for new types of reconstructive and aesthetic operations in the field of plastic surgery. Among Vladimir Alekseevich’s students there are 4 doctors and 18 candidates of medical sciences.

The scientific and practical activities of Vladimir Vissarionov were awarded medals by E. Dashkova and I. Mechnikov for their contribution to preserving the health of the nation and the development of the Russian school of plastic surgery and cosmetology.

The list of achievements of the famous doctor could go on for a very long time. However, the gratitude of his many patients is caused not by his academic degrees and scientific works, but by his undeniable talent and humanity. For him, people are not just material from which one can “tailor” the many faces and bodies that glossy magazines are full of. Vladimir Alekseevich will not undergo surgery for everyone. But believe me, if you do, the result will be excellent.

Beauty in Russian: inside or outside?

The whole world knows the craving of Russian women for somewhat pretentious jewelry and flashy makeup, which often hides an unkempt appearance. Only they can apply full “war” paint from many layers of foundation, mascara, eyeliner and lipstick, and at the end of the day, at home, wash off the expensive cream with foam from baby soap. Only they are capable of putting on diamond earrings and a mink coat at 9 o’clock in the morning and going in all this... to the market. It’s scary to think how many overly exaggerated copies of Angelina Jolie would be walking the streets of Moscow if it weren’t for surgeons like Vissarionov. He has beauty - only in the reasonable understanding of the word. If you want to reshape yourself so that your mother doesn’t find out, then this is not the place for you. And not at all from a lack of opportunities. It’s just that Vissarionov and his employees know how to not only “make” beauty, but also appreciate it.

Vladimir Vissarionov has his own approach to patients, which is quite unpopular among other plastic surgeons. He believes that there is no specific age at which a woman needs to start fighting wrinkles. It all depends on the individual state and self-perception - after all, it happens that a woman feels much younger or older than her passport data.

For those women who would still like to change something in their appearance, Vissarionov is ready to offer a lot. He believes that our specialists and cosmetics are in no way inferior to their Western counterparts, except that they are less advertised. Vladimir is especially proud of the fact that his institute has a whole laboratory in which professional cosmetics are produced exclusively from natural raw materials.

In aesthetic surgery, Vladimir uses both domestic and foreign developments, because the main thing is time-tested methods that give only a positive effect.

“In plastic surgery, as in any other surgery, it is important to observe the commandment “Do no harm!” After all, any surgical intervention is not without risk. Before taking a patient for surgery, we carefully check her health status. Rosy cheeks are not always a sign of health; such a complexion can also occur with heart disease,” says Vladimir Alekseevich.

Often people who turn to plastic surgeons are not entirely adequate people who are not able to make a sober decision. For such patients, a psychologist works at the clinic. He explains that you can't drag your face endlessly. Although you can’t tell this by looking at Russian stars.

“Our skin’s reserve capacity for stretching is not unlimited, and with age they become less and less: elasticity is lost, and the skin becomes like paper. And then plastic surgery does not give a pronounced rejuvenating effect,” says Dr. Vissarionov.

The skin of the face can generally only withstand 3-4 tightenings; doing more is not recommended, otherwise the surgeon’s work becomes too noticeable, especially in the chin area. The duration of the effect after surgery often depends on the client himself, and not on the skill of the doctor. In the postoperative period, it is very important to maintain optimal weight and hormonal balance of the body. But Vladimir, unlike many other surgeons, does not consider age for the first plastic surgery to be a problem. His oldest patient was 83 and a half years old.

Work with the heart

In addition to the fact that the Vladimir Vissarionov Institute is engaged in the restoration of youth, more serious operations are also carried out there. The clinic operates on patients who simply need their face restored, and not necessarily a beautiful one. First of all, these are children with all kinds of pathologies and people affected by severe accidents.

About a thousand children with congenital maxillofacial pathology (cleft face and palate) were operated on free of charge at the Vissarionov Institute. For his participation in the charity program “Let’s Give Children a Smile Back,” Vladimir Vissarionov was awarded the “For Humanism of the Heart” Prize.

However, humanism alone is not enough in our time. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to do good deeds without proper funding. At the moment, the state owns 100% of the shares of the institute. He has been self-supporting for a long time and does not raise prices to exorbitant levels, and besides, he is involved in charitable programs. Unfortunately, the state decided that it did not need the shares and wanted to sell them.

“It will be good if they are acquired by people who will develop those areas of our work that we are rightfully proud of. Indeed, in addition to medical treatment, we also conduct extensive scientific activities, training cosmetologists and plastic surgeons,” says Vissarionov. It's scary to think what will happen if the new owners just want to do business for the sake of business.

According to Vladimir Alekseevich, the state is of little interest in the appearance of women and is unlikely to ever invest money in this industry. And the profession of a plastic surgeon in Russia was officially recognized only in 2009. Before this, it was considered simply one of the medical branches.
