Colonoscopy
Colonoscopy is a diagnostic method used for the large intestine. To carry out the examination, a special thin flexible optical apparatus is used, which allows for inspection of the intestinal wall and the lumen of the organ. The method allows you to examine the cecum and rectum.
During the examination procedure, it is possible to obtain images of the organ, take a biopsy sample for further laboratory testing, and remove pathological formations.
Examinations are carried out by a proctologist or an endoscopic diagnostics specialist.
About the device
The machine used for the examination has a high-resolution digital camera with illumination, which makes it possible to obtain clear images of the intestinal areas being examined. In addition, there is an internal channel, thanks to which diagnostic and therapeutic manipulations are possible.
To improve the quality of the procedure, the device is equipped with special filters, as well as magnifying systems. During the procedure, pictures appear on the screen and a video is recorded. The latter is necessary in order to be able to subsequently observe the dynamics of the process or get a “second opinion” at a consultation of doctors.

Examination under anesthesia
Colonoscopic examination is not a natural process for the body and is not entirely pleasant. During the procedure, the patient's intestinal walls are stretched, and this can cause not only discomfort, but also pain.
Carbon dioxide, which is introduced into the body to straighten the organ and achieve a better image of the areas of interest to the intestine, swells the intestinal walls, and also causes discomfort.
To avoid possible trauma and eliminate pain, the examination is performed when the patient is asleep, i.e. under anesthesia.
Indications for examination
The examination is carried out according to the indications of a proctologist, surgeon or gastroenterologist.
We recommend that the patient find out from the attending physician why the examination is indicated. What risk factors became the basis for prescribing the procedure. These factors may include:
- Bloody discharge from the anus, presence of blood in the stool, positive test for occult blood;
- Diarrhea;
- Constipation;
- Anemia;
- Pain in the abdomen, flatulence, feeling of incomplete emptying;
- Age 45+;
- Colon cancer in close relatives.
Contraindications to the examination
The following persons may not be examined:
- Those who have been diagnosed with acute intestinal or cold diseases;
- If there is a suspicion of peritonitis;
- Severe cardiac or respiratory failure;
- Mental abnormalities;
- Myocardial infarction or stroke suffered less than six months ago;
- Problems with blood clotting;
- General serious condition;
- Severe form of ischemic colitis;
- Massive intestinal damage due to ulcerative colitis.
Irrigography
If the patient has postoperative scars or postpartum narrowing of the rectum, as well as acute inflammatory and purulent lesions of the perineum, arterial hypertension, cardiac ischemia, he must inform the doctor about this so that he can take the necessary measures to prevent the patient’s condition from worsening during the procedure. examinations.
Reviews about the medical center Andrology Clinic "Delta Clinic" on Kurskaya
03/31/2016, 16:00 I made an appointment at the clinic with a Trichologist, Tkachenko.

Show in full Signed up to the clinic for an appointment with the Trichologist, Tkachenko. The place is Nastavnichesky Lane, building 6. I go to registration and they politely ask me to undress. And then the most interesting thing happened. The doctor examines my head visually and says that the condition of the hair is bad (as if I didn’t know about this and came to the appointment to show how strong and healthy my hair is), and this needs to be corrected, fortunately I came to a HIGHLY qualified specialist, and they will definitely help me! At this point the visual examination ended, the doctor suggested doing a photorichogram. The equipment consists of an old phototrichoscope, and an equally old laptop on the table. During the phototrichogram, the doctor took two photographs, and she clearly couldn’t get the photos in focus, based on this I got the impression that either the doctor does not know how to use this primitive equipment, or She simply doesn’t have the desire to bother doing the job well. What I didn’t like: on the attachment of the phototrichoscope, I noticed someone’s hair, in principle, nothing wrong, but I believe that such things should be processed to maintain the personal hygiene of the clinic’s clients, the tweezers with which the hair was extracted were removed by the doctor from a worn plastic case (cheap Chinese products are sold at these flea markets) in such storage conditions you can’t count on its hygienic processing, it seems like nothing serious - but it’s unpleasant. Further more, a diagnosis of seborrhea, the doctor wrote out a sheet for tests totaling about 6500, talked about some kind of discount and strongly recommended to undergo these tests in their clinic, no recommendations for care or medications were given (I thought that maybe the doctor was forbidden advertise someone else's products?) and I asked directly - what products can the doctor recommend for daily use right now in the current state of affairs? To which I was immediately asked to buy “good Spanish shampoo and lotion” (I saw a significant supply of these products in the doctor’s closet, something reminded me - “Hey, hey, Amway!”) for a total amount of 6,000! When asked about what else could be used from what is sold in Russia, she dryly answered that consultants in pharmacy chains would advise (here one can see either a reluctance to help with the choice of publicly available drugs, or a banal ignorance of the drug market). At the end of the reception, which lasted no more than 7 minutes in the place with Trichogramma!!! The doctor asked if you had any questions? I once again asked for advice on treatment methods and remedies, to which I received the answer that when I do the tests and if I come to their clinic for treatment, then they will tell me... The bottom line: paid 3800 - 1000 appointment, 2800 phototrichogram, took 10 minutes However, no recommendations for treatment have been received. Is this “service” worth the money? Definitely NO! Will I go to the DELTACLINIC again? If there is a choice - DEFINITELY NO! answer
Conducting a survey
The examination can be divided into 3 stages - preparation, procedure and recovery.
The preparatory stage, which the subject carries out at home, is extremely important.
The subject must strictly follow the instructions he received from the doctor and use the prescribed medications.
At the 2nd stage, carried out in the clinic, the subject, immersed in a state of medicated sleep, is introduced with a special probe, which is carefully advanced into the examination area.
To achieve minimal irritation of the organ from the endoscope, air or carbon dioxide is supplied. The second option is preferable, since it is much better removed from the intestinal lumen.
In order to improve the quality of the examination, dyes, contrast amplifiers, cleaning fluids, magnification and optical filters are used.
Having removed the device at the end of the procedure, the doctor must carefully examine the mucous membrane.
The goal of the third stage is to restore the patient. Waking up after anesthesia, he regains his strength and, after a conversation with the attending physician, leaves the clinic.
