It’s stupid to talk about trends in aesthetic surgery. We always want to look beautiful and young. And it can’t be that a hooked nose is in fashion today, but tomorrow it’s gone, or now everyone is doing breast augmentation, and a year later they’re enlarging their buttocks. There is a demand for every operation, it’s just that it’s always different in different countries (and regions). Now in large cities of Russia, rhinoplasty (correction of the shape of the nose), mammoplasty (mainly breast augmentation), blepharoplasty (eyelid correction) and liposuction (removal of excess fat) are in demand. But this does not mean that abdominoplasty (stomach surgery) or otoplasty (correction of the shape of the ears) is not needed by anyone. Such requests are also made, just less often.
Scientific activity
Naturally, in addition to studies and courses, Gogiberidze Otari takes an active part in science. About plastic surgeons
I won’t say that there are a lot of charlatans now. But think for yourself, 3-4 years ago there were about 300 plastic surgeons in Moscow, and now there are already about 500. And this does not speak about the quality of these specialists. Here we can rather talk about a conveyor belt of graduates who are eager to earn as much as possible! And this is a fundamentally wrong approach (for example, up to 10 visits are free for me, and we charge symbolic money for injections, since our goal is not to make money)!
Nowadays it is quite difficult (but, I emphasize, possible) to find an intelligent plastic surgeon. It is important that he be a talented specialist, that his hands grow where they need to, and not as it happens. (Smiles.) I mean that the doctor’s experience must be adequate and specialized. If you say that you are a plastic surgeon, then you should practice in plastic surgery, and not somewhere else! And now many people say: “I have 11 years of experience!” And when you start looking for information about him, it turns out that he graduated from college five years ago and only had a couple of plastic surgeries. Must have at least eight to ten years of experience in the relevant field. Personally, I perform 550 operations a year. Now just think, what kind of experience could someone who has held a scalpel in their hands several times in their life have?!
Education
In 1995, in Moscow, the then future plastic surgeon completed his studies at the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia. To obtain a medical education from 1995 to 1997, Otari completed a residency in maxillofacial surgery, and the surgeon spent the next 3 years (from 1997 to the 2000s) in graduate school at the same faculty. Training alone is not enough for this profession, so Gogiberidze Otari subsequently decided to improve his qualifications in the field of aesthetic, plastic, reconstructive surgery and cosmetology, spending 1 year on this (from 2001 to 2002). Since 2002, the surgeon has already started working and helping people, and in 2004 in Germany (Heidelberg) he took a course in augmentation and reduction mammoplasty. During the same period, the specialist gained experience in the field of liposuction, delved into the basics of surgical facial rejuvenation, lifting and body lifting, etc.
Gradually Gogiberidze began to visit more and more countries. So, in 2005, the surgeon flew to Spain (Barcelona), where he took a course in nose surgery and facial rejuvenation. The following year, the doctor took a course on involutional changes in the breast and face.

An aesthetic surgeon must understand: a healthy person came to him, and he must also leave healthy. Of course, everyone has complications, but you must have escape routes, and for this you need a complete picture - a map with an examination of the patient from start to finish! Without all the documents confirming that the patient is healthy, I will not work further!

Over all the years of work, the young plastic surgeon managed to change several clinics. Otari provided paid plastic surgery services at the Escal, Ottimo, and Klazko clinics, and also worked for some time in a medical clinic. Now the specialist occupies the position of chief physician at the “Time of Beauty” aesthetic medicine center. As Otari himself says, in the family where he was born, no one is interested in medicine. Mother and father never insisted on choosing a particular profession, so the surgeon made the choice independently and completely consciously.

Now his dream has come true, and the medical clinic has been operating quite successfully for quite some time, accepting clients with various aesthetic problems. Previously, Otari was a co-owner of one of the Moscow plastic surgery centers, but thanks to his diligence, professionalism and talent, in three years he was able to make the clinic one of the most visited and recognizable in Moscow. It was then that Otari began to think about opening and promoting his own center.
Since then, the leading Moscow surgeon has been in charge of his clinic, which is visited by his regular clients and people who decide to undergo surgery, but at the same time take this issue very seriously and choose a surgeon with special care. Candidate of Medical Sciences Otari Teimurazovich considers communication with patients to be the most difficult task in his profession. His work requires iron patience, and the ability to find a common language with everyone who comes to the clinic, even just for a consultation, also plays an important role. It is necessary to hear and understand people’s wishes, in some cases it is even necessary to repeat and clarify some nuances that are incomprehensible to patients over and over again. But Otari enjoys this, because being useful and helping people is his calling.
How it all began
Otari never had much sympathy for doctors and could not even imagine that in the future he would become a famous plastic surgeon. But one day Otari's world changed completely. It all started with an ordinary stay in the hospital, when he became seriously ill. It was then that Otari became very impressed with the appearance of the doctors and their work. From that moment on, he began to seriously think about becoming a doctor in the future and helping people. Already at the age of 15, he got a job in a maternity hospital, where his duties included only washing floors, collecting diapers and supervising doctors - this is what Otari considered the most interesting part of his work. With delight and incredible impression from everything he saw, after graduating from school, Gogiberidze confidently headed to get a higher education at a medical institute.
Each client is unique, valuable and dear
Compared to the last decade, clients are now more aware of the work of plastic surgeons and various innovations in their field of activity. Previously, patients were interested in such questions as, for example, how long it would take for bruises and scars to fade, whether the doctor could do what they wanted with their appearance, etc. Nowadays, many patients, having read false information on the Internet , come to many specialists with moral teachings. Sometimes they even indicate to the doctor what method of work he should use during the operation. But Otari always treats such people with understanding. Still, an operation is a rather serious decision, and out of excitement, clients begin to collect all the information from the public domain, even though they understand absolutely nothing about this matter. “I just sort everything out in my clients’ heads, as they say. And in the future, we decide together what the client really needs and how to achieve this in a competent way,” says the doctor. Gogiberidze Otari is absolutely sure that each case is interesting in its own way and has features that should be given great attention. But being guided by information from the Internet is not always the right and appropriate decision.
Interesting facts from my studies
While studying at the university, Gogiberidze Otari Teimurazovich was mainly interested in surgical aspects. And even while studying infectious diseases, he plunged into various diagnostic examinations with pleasure and enthusiasm. Otari understood perfectly well that his future profession would definitely be connected with surgery. And the circumstances for this could not have been better, because famous plastic surgeons from Moscow taught at the faculty where the specialist studied.
Attitude to family
At the age of 41, Otari became a father for the second time. He believes that at this age the birth of a child is perceived somewhat differently than, for example, at twenty years old. Now the doctor is very kind and sensitive to his beloved daughter, tries to provide her with everything she needs and pay as much attention as possible, although due to his work he is not always able to do this. An interesting point: Otari was present at the birth, however, this time he did not act as a doctor, but was simply an observer, who decided to leave the room immediately at the moment of birth. But the famous doctor will remember the feeling when Otari first held the newly born baby in his arms for the rest of his life. By the way, at the time of the birth of his first daughter, candidate of medical sciences Gogiberidze was just undergoing medical practice in the same maternity hospital where his wife Yana Laputina gave birth. More than 18 years have passed since that moment, but the plastic surgeon still talks about this with delight and unprecedented joy in his eyes.
