Evgeniy Dobreikin: Such an operation does exist, but in Russia it is not as widespread as abroad. Still, the number of obese people in our country is not so huge, and, in addition, our men prefer to increase volume in the area of the buttocks and legs. All these operations are very complex. They are made using special implants.
Corr.: What can you say about liposuction? Does this surgery really help you lose weight?
Evgeniy Dobreikin: Liposuction has completely different goals. Doctors recommend it for silhouette correction, and not as a way to lose weight. If a person has local fat deposits, then this operation is suitable for him. Moreover, I would recommend laser or water-jet liposuction - these methods are more gentle than traditional liposuction. But if we are talking about large volumes of fatty tissue, then I would recommend classic liposuction. With its help you can remove almost any fat deposits.
After liposuction, fat does not accumulate or move to other places.
Corr.: How long do the results of liposuction last?
Evgeniy Dobreikin: Everything here depends, first of all, on the patient’s lifestyle. If a person leads an active lifestyle and adheres to a strict diet, then he is unlikely to need repeated liposuction. Fat does not accumulate again, does not move to other places - all these are idle fictions that have no scientific basis. Of course, the patient may be recommended the most gentle method. In such cases, liposuction is carried out in several stages, with intervals from six months to several years.

Evgeniy Dobreikin: If we are talking about surgical intervention, then no, because any operation is a huge risk and a heavy burden for the body. No one will risk the patient's health. A good plastic surgeon does his best to reduce the threat to the patient’s life to a minimum.
Corr.: Tell us about modern anti-aging surgeries. How effective are they?
Evgeniy Dobreikin: It all depends on the goals pursued by the patient and on his desire to change his appearance. At a certain age, an eyelid lift is enough to look 5-10 years younger. If the patient wants to look 15 years younger, then we will talk about a more complex operation.

On the other hand, I know many doctors who continue to operate beyond the age of 60, yet patients and colleagues treat them with great respect and pay little attention to the surgeon’s appearance.

What we are seeing today is a real breakthrough.
