All of the above types of rhinoplasty, with the exception of correction of the nasal septum, are performed under general anesthesia. Local anesthesia with sedation can only be used during septoplasty, but not always, since during rhinoplasty the patient may hear metallic sounds of instruments, which is undesirable and uncomfortable for the patient. Under general anesthesia, the patient tolerates even the most complex rhinoplasty completely comfortably, and with this type of anesthesia, the anesthesiologist has more ability to control important indicators of the body in normal conditions, such as pressure, proper oxygen supply, and so on.
After the patient has had an in-person or correspondence consultation with a doctor, passed a full range of laboratory tests and, based on the results of the tests, received approval for surgery, a date for the operation is set.

Before the operation, the plastic surgeon, ENT doctor and anesthesiologist are required to talk with the patient. Preoperative markings are applied and the patient is transferred to a sterile operating room.
The duration of the operation, depending on the type, can last from 1 to 3 hours. Upon completion of the operation, the patient is transferred to a ward, where he is under the supervision of a team of doctors and junior medical staff for the next 24 hours.
On the second day, an examination and removal of the turundas, which are installed during the operation, are scheduled. On the 10th day the plaster is removed. In rare and exceptional cases, depending on the type of operation, the plaster can be removed 1-2 days earlier.
The rehabilitation period after rhinoplasty depends on the type of operation. Primary rehabilitation is 10-15 days, with swelling in the first 4-6 days and possible hematomas. The secondary rehabilitation period can last up to six months. The patient can observe the final result after rhinoplasty 6-12 months after surgery, depending on the type of plastic surgery.

Ali Aliyev: Should there be? (smiles)
Corr.: Quite a common occurrence in our environment.
Ali Aliyev: This is not about me. Fortunately, the disease is not contagious. And my immune system is strong.
Corr.: The sense of humor is also ok, apparently. What about patients? Many surgeons complain that their numbers have decreased due to various economic factors. Crisis in the country.
Ali Aliyev: Apparently, this crisis bypassed me. And my patients too. I come to Moscow regularly - at least once a month, and I always have a busy operational schedule, a lot of consultations.
Corr.: Where do your patients come from? You are not listed among the “kings of advertising”; you are known in narrow circles, as they say, not “mass market”.
Ali Aliyev: The best advertising is a recommendation. My patients recommend me to their friends, colleagues, and relatives. They, in turn, recommend me to their friends, colleagues, and relatives. And so on in a circle. Therefore, it’s a shame for me to complain about the lack of patients.
Corr.: Ali, as far as I know, you operate abroad and are among the TOP popular plastic surgeons. What caused the need to periodically fly to Moscow and operate here?
Ali Aliyev: This can hardly be called a necessity. The fact is that I do not consider myself a “foreign surgeon who comes to operate in Moscow.” I lived in Moscow, I studied in Moscow (in 2006 I entered graduate school to study in the specialty “Plastic Surgeon” at the Russian Scientific Center for Surgery under the guidance of Academician N.O. Milanov), I have close people, friends, and colleagues here. I don't come "to visit". Moreover, I try not to miss a single professional event in Russia - I often give presentations, participate in congresses and conferences.

Ali Aliyev: Current. Moreover, even for Russian practice. It just so happened that rhinoplasty became my main profile. I really love this operation. I operate a lot abroad, I have many personal and professional contacts with the best foreign surgeons. I spied a lot on them. Corr.: Not so long ago you became the winner in the category “Best plastic surgeon for gluteoplasty.” In your personal rating, this operation ranks third after rhinoplasty and breast augmentation. Is buttock surgery really so popular in Russia?
Ali Aliyev: For me, winning this nomination was a surprise. I didn't know I was nominated or that so many people voted for me. I don’t know how much my personal rating corresponds to the all-Russian rating of the popularity of operations, but gluteoplasty is really in demand among my patients. Many people for whom I once enlarged their breasts later came to me to enlarge their buttocks. And they brought their friends with them. This is how the statistics came to be.
