Founded in 1991

The Center for Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery "PLASTES" was founded in 1991 . At that time, plastic surgery in the regions of Russia was just beginning to “reach the people,” turning from elite to public. Therefore, to be honest, no one had complete confidence in the success of this enterprise. But today we are pleased to know that the choice made 25 years ago turned out to be correct, the path traveled was worthy, and the prospects continue to make our heads spin as before, forcing us to take ever new steps along the ladder leading to the heights of mastery .

Patient safety is our top priority

Small operations, such as removal of benign skin tumors , scar correction and some others, are performed directly in the office. There is a comfortable operating room and a dressing room that meets all the requirements of the sanitary and epidemiological regime. Outpatient surgery is becoming increasingly popular all over the world due to its undeniable advantages. When performing outpatient operations, the patient does not need to go to the hospital; the entire treatment takes one day . The operations are performed under local anesthesia, which allows you to lead a normal lifestyle and drive a car immediately after the intervention. As we said above, not all operations can be performed on an outpatient basis; this issue is resolved during consultation.

Operations in the field of “plastic surgery” are performed in the inpatient department , located on the basis of the National Health Institution “Road Clinical Hospital” at the Chelyabinsk station of JSC Russian Railways - a multidisciplinary specialized medical institution that includes a polyclinic for 1700 visits per day, a hospital with 665 beds. Every year, 125,000 people receive medical care in a clinic and 16,000 in a hospital. The road clinical hospital is engaged in treatment and prevention, research, organizational, methodological and teaching work (training of interns, residents, etc.).

We pay great attention to the safety of our patients during preparation and conduct of operations. First of all, this concerns anesthesia. When performing short-term operations, inhalation anesthesia is used using the latest generation of drugs that ensure rapid falling asleep and awakening. When performing long-term operations, intubation anesthesia is performed using modern anesthesia machines.

During the entire operation, with the help of modern computerized tracking equipment, the state of vital signs of the body is monitored: pulse rate, blood oxygen saturation, blood pressure, electrocardiogram, etc. According to indications, prevention of thromboembolic complications is carried out using a pneumatic massager. Thanks to the use of high-quality modern drugs, after the end of anesthesia there are no unpleasant sensations such as dizziness, drowsiness, nausea and vomiting.

The beginning of the way

Like everything in life, our work began with mastering the simplest things. However, almost immediately it became clear that for further development it is necessary to constantly improve, introducing new technologies and methods of performing operations . There was practically no place to study plastic surgery in our country. All aesthetic surgery was then localized in 2-3 closed metropolitan clinics , access to which was limited for ordinary surgeons.

Where are the wizards...

30 years ago, a clinic appeared in the center of Chelyabinsk , where miracles, albeit small, but very unusual for that time, began to occur. were one of the first in our region to begin performing plastic surgery on the face and body . For what? Were they needed in the difficult 90s? It turned out that they were needed. Moreover, they are needed regardless of any political and economic changes that have taken place in our country and life over the past 30 years .

The next logical question is – Why? Why do people strive for beauty so much that they are ready to “go under the knife” , go through the operation itself and the postoperative period, swelling, bruising, and removal of stitches? It would seem, what problems can a crooked nose cause to an absolutely healthy person ? Or an aging face? Or lack of breasts? It turns out that it can. And quite serious . These problems can be so serious that , general tone, desires and aspirations are greatly reduced And it turns out that it is no longer possible to call him healthy. That's the thing. Think about the WHO definition: health is a state of a person characterized not only by the absence of disease or physical defects, but by complete physical, mental and social well-being . Have you thought about it? If you have appendicitis, then you need to go to a general surgeon. But if your nose is crooked and it makes you feel bad, then you can’t do without a wizard. Let’s move on.

From a surgical point of view, correcting the shape of the tip of the nose , for example, cannot be called magic . In fact, these are only sequential manipulations associated with changing the position of cartilage. For the surgeon, each subsequent operation is not very different from the previous one : “scalpel-clamp-sutures-bandage-next”. Nose, ears, face, chest... Yesterday, today, tomorrow... The result depends on experience and skill. We are 30 years old. And we still do plastic surgery. There is nothing more to say. We have the skill.

What is the magic then? Keeping up with the times and the country

In 1994, the Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (OPRES) was created in Russia. This event became very important in the history of the development of plastic surgery both nationwide and in our region. For the first time, surgeons of different specialties, one way or another connected with plastic surgery, were able to unite, get to know each other and begin to exchange knowledge and experience. Thanks to the achieved professional results, the PLASTES Center is recognized by the Russian Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons, as well as international and European societies of plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgeons (IPRAS, ESPRAS). Two of the Center's surgeons are active members of the American Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (ASPS).

Going international

As we mentioned above, the experience of domestic plastic surgery was mastered in the early 90s . Therefore, by 1995, a need arose, and most importantly, a real opportunity to establish international contacts , since by that time the “Iron Curtain” had already become a part of history.

Formation of your own scientific school

In 1996, a new line of work for us was launched - reconstructive surgery in oncology , thanks to which patients of the Chelyabinsk Regional Oncology Center had the opportunity to undergo the recovery stage free of charge simultaneously with the removal of malignant tumors or in a delayed period. Work in this direction continues successfully to this day.

Creating your own training center

In 1996, our clinic became the only center for training specialists in the specialties of plastic surgery and cosmetology in the Urals. A course was opened at our base, which in 2003 was reorganized into the department of the Institute for Advanced Training of Doctors. Since 2000, by the decision of the Presidium of the Russian Society of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons, it was included in the list of medical institutions recommended for advanced training in plastic surgery in the Russian Federation. In 2009, the department became subordinate to the South Ural State Medical University and was the first in Russia to receive a license for educational activities in the specialty of plastic surgery.

The Center for Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery “PLASTES” began operating in 1991. He offers services to improve appearance, correct defects in appearance, and reduce age-related changes in the body and face. Since 1996, the PLASTES blade has been the only center for training specialists in plastic surgery and cosmetology in the Urals.

The clinic’s plastic surgeons perform many popular operations, including breast reduction, augmentation, lifting and reconstruction of the mammary glands, liposuction, abdominoplasty, correction of body scars, buttock augmentation, removal of benign neoplasms of the skin and soft tissues of the body, face lifting, blepharoplasty, otoplasty, rhinoplasty, lipofilling, skin dermabrasion.

In 2005, on the initiative of the PLASTES Center and the Department of Plastic Surgery and Cosmetology of the UGMADO, the Chelyabinsk Regional Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (CHOAPREX) was created .
