All photos were taken on the day of purchase (half-empty jars do not look so aesthetically pleasing), but don’t be alarmed - I’m writing this post after some time of use, when the result appeared and I had a full-fledged opinion about the product. I take the descriptions and recommendations for use of all products from the packaging and the composition from the Internet. I post the products in the order in which I use them.

My opinion:
The gel has a pleasant texture - not too thick and not sticky. It doesn’t foam as much as mass-market products (for example green Garnier), but enough for convenient use. One small “pea” is enough for 1 time, it is generally economical. I really liked the pleasant, unobtrusive and non-chemical smell. It is easily washed off with water, does not leave a greasy film on the face and does not tighten the skin (my Clinique was guilty of this). In general, a very comfortable and delicate gel, it has become a must-have for me. True, I accidentally discovered a small minus, I often travel from city to city and during my next move I noticed that the packaging of the gel is not airtight and it leaks slightly - not fatal, just unexpected.

My opinion:
The lotion is transparent and practically odorless. I like that it leaves my skin feeling clean and fresh. After a week of use, I noticed that my pores became slightly smaller and the number of blackheads decreased. It does not leave any traces behind and you can apply the cream immediately after use. I read in some reviews that it causes a burning sensation, but this did not happen to me (once again I remember how different we all are and how important it is to choose products for your skin type).

3. La Roche-Posay (Effaclar K series) Soin Renovation Peaux Grasses

My opinion:
I’ll start with the packaging, in this case it slightly disappointed me - the cream is supposed to stand with the spout down, but when opened, due to the fairly liquid (for a cream) consistency, a huge amount of it immediately comes out, so you have to store it with the spout up. Squeezing out is also not particularly convenient - each time you get different portions (that’s why I give it a minus). Further only a positive impression: the light texture is perfectly distributed over the skin, in a perfectly even and thin layer, is quickly absorbed, does not give an oily sheen and even mattifies the skin. The declared property “narrows pores” worked in my case - it really does, and this is noticeable immediately after use and the effect accumulates over and over again (as a result, after a week of use, my pores became the ideal size). It can really be used as a base for makeup (which is what I did) - makeup goes on smoothly and lasts all day.

4. La Roche-Posay (Effaclar H series) Hidratante Compensador Calmante / Soothing moisturizer for problem skin

My opinion:
I use it mainly in the evening (since step 3 is enough for me in the morning). The texture is thick cream, quite oily. The smell is like the gel from this series. It gives shine to the skin (after reading numerous reviews, I was preparing for the shine from the above-described No. 3 Effaclar K, but in my case it’s the other way around), but it softens it great. After the first times of application, the skin on the “wings” of the nose peeled and peeled off, but after 3-4 days this stopped (and the area was covered with new, delicate skin).

Duration of use of all products

General opinion:
I always try something new in a series at once (rather than one product at a time) due to the better interaction of the products with each other.
This treatment left me with positive emotions and really produced results. I can say for sure that it suited my skin (there were no irritations, burning sensations or allergies) and I will buy it in the future. The overall result was a reduction in pimples (those that existed disappeared and there were much fewer new ones), a reduction in pores, I finally finished the fight against blackheads, my skin color improved and became a healthier shade, my face was smooth and velvety-pleasant to the touch. There were also some small drawbacks: the packaging was not always convenient, the cream had an oily sheen, flaking near the nose (then went away) - but for me this is not critical. Overall rating:

I invite everyone who would like to get acquainted with the brand, but did not know which product to start with, to the cat.

If you've ever thought that your skin is problematic, I'm pretty sure you've heard of the EFFACLAR range for oily and problem skin from La Roche-Posay . In my opinion, this series is one of the most popular in the pharmaceutical cosmetics segment.

It so happened that my skin gave me a reason to get acquainted with the brand, namely with two cleansers: gel and mousse.

But everything is in order.

About skin: 23, combination, problematic, constantly having rashes not just a couple of days a month, but every day for the last 3 years, very dehydrated.

The first product I purchased:

Efaklar H Cleansing Soothing Mousse

I bought the mousse to use for its intended purpose - the skin was severely dehydrated, washing with more “vigorous” products was painful, my face stung noticeably.

The task was simple - high-quality cleansing of the skin without overdrying.

The texture of the mousse is appropriate - light foam that settles fairly quickly.

The smell is barely noticeable, a little pharmaceutical (unlike the gel)

The expense is quite high. Due to the fact that the foam deflates quickly, you need at least 2 full pumps to wash your face. And this despite the fact that I wash off my makeup separately with micellar water.

Result

The mousse delicately cleanses the skin, does not really dry it out, and there is no feeling of tightness or discomfort after it. The disc with lotion is clean after it, which means the quality of cleansing is high.

The skin feels comfortable, but you can’t do without moisturizing!

On my own behalf, I can give advice to ensure that you really like the product - it is better to remove makeup with a special product first, because by washing off makeup with cleansers, we will never cleanse the skin completely (for problem skin this is critically important). With this approach, the mousse will perfectly cleanse the skin and will not be used up quickly.

Testing period: 2 months

Closer to summer, I bought one of the brand’s most popular products

Efaklar Cleansing foaming gel for oily and sensitive skin

Texture : this is an absolutely transparent gel that smells like roses to me, yes, exactly a rose bouquet. The smell is quite strong, but pleasant.

Packaging: The tube in which the gel is located is convenient, nothing leaks out of it.

I use the gel exactly as the manufacturer advises. I squeeze a small amount onto wet palms, lather it and apply it to my face. The foam turns out good, enough for the whole face. With this method of use, the gel turns out to be indecently economical!

Result

I read a lot of conflicting reviews about this gel: from enthusiastic to negative with accusations of drying out the skin. I can say from myself that I had 3 tubes of this gel and it seems that the manufacturer listened to the comments and changed the formula, because now the gel does not dry out the skin at all, even if it is dehydrated or dry.

The gel cleanses the skin perfectly, one might say “squeaky clean”, and after washing there is no feeling of tightness, even dry areas feel good. Overall, the skin looks clean and fresh, but what else do you need?

At the same time, I see a positive effect on inflammation, there are fewer of them! I don’t know what the reason is, the active ingredients in the composition or just high-quality cleansing, but the fact remains that I see the result on my face.

Testing period: about 1 year (3 packs of gel in total)

Rating: 5, cleanses perfectly, does not dry out and heals inflammation.

Overall result: Many people, when choosing the Effaclar series , are tormented by the question of what to take, gel or mousse. Here it is worth looking at the condition of the skin.

If it is really dehydrated, tight and you constantly feel discomfort, then you should pay attention to the mousse, it is softer and more delicate and at the same time very effective in terms of cleansing. It definitely won't cause any discomfort to the skin.

If your skin is combination/oily/normal and doesn’t feel tight every time after washing, take a closer look at the gel. It is incredibly economical, cleanses very well and does not dry out my skin (at least my very dehydrated one).

Acne on the back: what is it? And how to deal with them?

We found out why people get acne on their back, whether it's always acne, what can be done - and whether the new Effaclar La Roche-Posay exfoliating gel will really help. Two adult men, one teenager and Olya Tretyakova took part in the experiment.

According to La Roche-Posay, almost 70% of people have inflammation on their body. Against them (acne, that is), the brand has developed a gel exfoliant, Effaclar Gel Purifiante Micro-Exfoliante. – What causes inflammation on the body? For the same reasons as on the face?

– When they say “inflammation,” they usually mean acne. The causes of acne on the face and body are identical. The face has the most sebaceous glands in the T-zone: from 70 to 300-400 per square centimeter. Seborrheic areas on the body are the chest, back and shoulders. With acne, acne may also appear on them.

However, inflammation does not necessarily mean acne. Let's figure it out: when we say “sebaceous glands,” we mean sebaceous hair follicles. But these follicles are of three types: a) those from which long hair grows (scalp, armpits); b) those from which vellus hair grows; c) follicles, where the hair is in its infancy and does not reach the surface of the skin. When it is the “B” type follicles that become inflamed, this is acne.

Inflammation of other types of follicles is called folliculitis. Folliculitis is provoked by Malassezia fungi, gram-negative bacteria in the microflora - there are many reasons, and they can be completely different than with acne.

On the back there can be both manifestations of acne and folliculitis.

– Why does it happen that there is acne on the back, but not on the face?

– In 15 years of practice, I have never seen anything like this. The fact is that acne is a polymorphic rash; it can manifest itself in various forms. Not only in the form of pimples with a white head. It happens that on the back, yes, there is acne, and on the face there are open comedones (blackheads) and/or closed comedones (subcutaneous inflammation). Considering that the face is a cosmetically significant area, more attention is paid to it in care. As a result, the blackheads become less pronounced, and the skin appears to be generally fine. Especially in comparison with the condition of the skin on the back.

There is no “acne map” according to which inflammation in the T-zone would appear for one reason, on the back for another, and on the shoulders for a third. It’s just that some patients have more rashes on the face, while others have more rashes on the body.

The severity of acne is determined by the amount of inflammation overall. When they are also on the back, we can talk about a more severe form. It is necessary to treat everything, not just a single area.

– Is it true that men are more prone to body rashes? Why?

– The sebaceous glands in men are larger, sebum production and sweating are more intense in them than in women. This is a favorable environment for the proliferation of fungi and bacteria. One of the factors that aggravates acne is insufficient hygiene. If you re-wear the T-shirt you wear for sports, you will get more breakouts. Unfortunately, many men tend to neglect this, as well as skin care in general.

There is also the so-called bodybuilder's acne, which is identified as a separate form. Steroids and muscle-building supplements can cause rashes in the back and chest.

– Let’s say I’m worried about inflammation on my back. What can I do on my own before going to the dermatologist?

– Let's start with the simplest: try to wash clothes and bed linen as often as possible, review your diet. There are studies that confirm that foods with a high glycemic index and dairy products increase the likelihood of acne and worsen its course. Of course, this does not mean that the cause of rashes is only fast food and sweets: the role of insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) is not fully understood. But some scientific works confirm that there is a pattern, and I tell patients about this.

In summer, you need to protect yourself from the sun: after vacation, many people return with rashes. Although at first it gives an imaginary improvement, it dries the skin, and it becomes cleaner for a while. Then, as a rule, the opposite effect occurs. The fact is that ultraviolet rays intensify hyperkeratosis. The desquamation of the stratum corneum is disrupted, and as a result, the pilosebaceous follicles become blocked.

Next is care. The skin needs to be cleansed of excess sebum. Soap and regular shower gel are not suitable: they do not contain anti-inflammatory and antibacterial components and will not remove hyperkeratosis. It is necessary to select products with acids and be sure to massage the skin when cleansing. Do not rub, but rather gently massage so that the horn cells are sloughed off mechanically. The mild comedonal form of acne (blackheads and closed comedones in the absence of pustules) is generally corrected first of all by cleansing. It is necessary to regulate the release of sebum so that it does not clog the follicles and does not oxidize in the pores.

It all started when I was a teenager. Acne appeared on the face, back and shoulders. Dad (he is a doctor) brought home pharmaceuticals, the situation gradually improved.
