French facial massage: techniques, contraindications

One of the most pronounced signs of age-related changes is the appearance of “jowls” and a “swimming” oval of the face - they visually make the lower part heavier, visually aging the face. This is the result of soft tissue ptosis and decreased muscle tone, in particular the tone of the masticatory muscle. Over time, the collagen fibers that reinforce the soft subcutaneous tissues stretch, causing the fatty tissue to sink further and further, stretching the skin itself. All this makes the contour of the face amorphous, changing its oval and adding extra years to the face.

The Grandmed clinic uses various methods to solve this problem. Depending on the individual characteristics of the patient and the severity of the problem, hardware therapy, injection techniques or combined methods are used.

Contour plastic

As an alternative to RF lifting, contour plastic surgery with the introduction of hyaluronic acid-based gels under the skin can be used. For this, fillers of varying degrees of density are used, for example, Juvederm, Restylane, Surgiderm, etc. With the help of injections, the water balance is restored in the dermis and subcutaneous soft tissues, their volume returns, thus, the contours of the lower part of the face regain their previous appearance. The effect of the procedure lasts for a year - then the biodegradable gels dissolve, leaving the body tissues naturally.

Preparation

Surgical interventions on the face are performed under general anesthesia, so patients are selected based on the results of the examination and only on the basis of the conclusion of our anesthesiologist, who selects the most optimal type of anesthesia in each specific case.

To exclude contraindications, it is necessary to take blood tests (biochemistry and general) and urine tests. The blood is examined for basic indicators (Rh factor, group, coagulability, sexually transmitted infections). Electrocardiography, X-ray, and ultrasound examination of the lower extremities are mandatory.

Photobiomodulation

A combined method, which is a combination of hardware therapy and injection plastic surgery, is photobiomodulation - a complex that includes three biorevitalization procedures in the first stage and the same number of photorejuvenation procedures in the second. At the first stage, injections of hyaluronic acid restore the water balance in the skin and subcutaneous tissues and smooth out fine wrinkles. On the second, the process of collagen and elastin synthesis starts, the skin acquires a new frame and tightens, smoothing out the contours and returning the oval of the face to its original appearance. One of the most important advantages of the method is that the effect of the procedure only increases over time and persists for a long time.

Operation

When the oval of the face has swollen, a facelift will help. Depending on the severity of ptosis, a facelift can be carried out according to one of the following scenarios:

  1. skin lifting
    - the operation is less traumatic and allows you to correct minimal excess skin of the face and neck;
  2. SMAS-lifting
    - suitable for eliminating deep jowls and severe ptosis, the surgeon works not only with the skin, but also with the muscular-aponeurotic system, due to which a new facial frame is created, with clear outlines and smooth transitions;
  3. endoscopic lifting
    is the method of choice for middle-aged patients (from 30 to 45) who have ptosis in the initial stage and need to prevent the first signs of aging.

The use of an endoscope during surgery is intended to provide additional visualization, thereby avoiding complications and reducing the duration of the rehabilitation period. Access to the internal structures is carried out through micro-punctures, making post-operative scars almost invisible.

Together with facelift, if the oval of the face has become swollen, platysmoplasty may be indicated. As part of a neck lift, excess fatty tissue is removed (liposuction) and a clearly defined cervical-mental angle is formed (double chin is eliminated).

All manipulations require general anesthesia and may take several hours, depending on the extent of the intervention.

LPG Integral

Among the modern techniques that allow you to restore the contour of the lower part of the face, LPG massage should also be mentioned! During the procedure, the skin is vacuum-grabbed by manipulators and placed between rollers, which perform a massage by palpating, moving back and forth. In this case, the very deep subcutaneous layers of tissue are affected, lymphatic drainage and microcirculation are activated, and the process of lipolysis occurs. Thanks to a special program, the manipulator is configured for contour modeling and ensures restoration of the oval of the face at the cellular level.

Causes

There may be several reasons why the oval of the face has swollen. One of the most common is ptosis:

  • gravitational
    - observed as a result of natural aging of the skin, formed under the influence of gravity on soft tissues, which lose their elasticity and begin to gradually slide down;
  • hormonal
    - against the background of hormonal imbalance, the skin can undergo serious deformations, and the face in this case is no exception.

Also, changes in the oval of the face are often associated with sudden weight loss, especially if the weight was significant. Stretched skin simply does not have time to adapt to new shapes and hangs. And if at a young age it is still capable of returning to its original state on its own, then the older you get, the less likely it is to recover naturally and the greater the need for surgical correction.

Ulthera System

Another extremely effective way to combat “jowls” is the Ulthera System (Altera) technology, which provides ultrasonic waves to the skin and subcutaneous tissues. The Ulthera System works with the SMAS, the superficial muscular aponeurotic layer, a subcutaneous structure that functions as a supporting frame for facial tissue. Under the influence of focused ultrasound, targeted heating occurs, which leads to contraction and compaction of the SMAS, which entails tightening of all overlying layers, providing instant lifting. In addition, ultrasound stimulation stimulates collagen synthesis: within several months after the procedure, a new collagen matrix is formed, which is accompanied by an increase in the lifting effect.

The result of the procedure is a pronounced lifting effect with tightening of the skin of the chin and corners of the lips. The advantage of the Ulthera System is that the device works with the deepest layers of tissue, achieving an effect equal to that which is possible with surgical intervention.

How to tighten your face shape with exercises

Age-related changes, alas, are inevitable. Fortunately, they can be corrected and mitigated with the help of special exercises.

Test

Before you begin the exercises, do a simple test to determine how severe your neck muscle spasm is.

Here's how to do it.

Tilt your head to the side, make several stretching movements along the neck with the edge of your palm from top to bottom. The movements are slow and quite deep; lightly stroking the skin will not give you anything. Rate the condition of the neck muscles on a 10-point scale from 0 to 10:

  • 0–3 - pleasant, comfortable feeling. The hand slides along the neck like butter. The muscles are smooth, soft, the neck relief is even.
  • 4–6 - slight pain discomfort. You can feel the uneven texture under your hand, and there are painful areas and lumps in some areas.
  • 7–10 - quite noticeable pain over the entire area, in some places it becomes stabbing. Lumps, cords and excessively painful areas can be felt under the arm. A feeling of a “stone” neck appears.

A score of 4 or more points indicates that blood circulation in the face is difficult due to the presence of muscle spasms - spasmed muscles compress blood vessels.

If you find such changes in yourself, then move on to the next step and turn our test into a full-fledged exercise. It will help:

  • tighten the contours of the oval face;
  • remove sagging in the chin and cheeks;
  • improve skin condition;
  • lengthen the neck and make it more flexible.

How to do:

Place your palm on the side of your neck and press down slightly. Tilt your head in the opposite direction and at the same time, with the edge of your palm, stretch your hand over the muscles of the neck, smoothing its entire lateral surface.

Using the described movement, level the relief of the side of the neck, achieve a decrease in rigidity and the formation of plasticity. Smooth out compactions, uneven or tense areas - the movement should be fairly tight. You can use a small amount of oil or cream at first.

How much to do: 3 times on each side.

Exercise “Angle of Youth”

An express treatment that restores tissue homogeneity and uniformity, reduces spasm of facial muscles in the middle part of the face. “When performing it, the entire parotid-masticatory area warms up, which is accompanied by a decrease in muscle tension,” says our expert. — The work of the dental system is optimized, its correct position is built. When you do this exercise throughout the day, it improves the functioning of the entire temporomandibular system over and over again.”

Why is this technique useful:

  • relieves tension and spasms in the lower jaw;
  • forms a clear oval face;
  • reduces “jowls”;
  • lengthens the side surface of the neck.

An additional bonus: the exercise is recommended by dentists, as it prevents tooth wear and age-related mouth recession.

Can be performed at night, as the exercise helps to cope with bruxism (teeth grinding) and involuntary clenching of the teeth.

This technique will be especially good for those who wear braces. Their chewing muscles come under severe tension due to the restructuring of the dental system.

How to do it:

Form a tuck in the parotid-masticatory area: you should collect the tissue as deep as possible. Then open your mouth, and the fold of skin will slip out of your hands. Perform the technique several times, rolling out the skin folds.

How long to do: 1–2 minutes.

What happens when you perform this technique?

Sculptural massage by Joelle Ciocco

The most famous, perhaps, is the French sculptural facial massage from Madame Joelle Siocco. It is called that because it allows women to become sculptors of their own faces. Using this technique, you can make its contours simply ideal.

Indications

  • double (second) chin;
  • shaved;
  • blurred facial contours;
  • saggy cheeks;
  • age folds;
  • swelling
  • unhealthy complexion;
  • wrinkles.

Execution technique

  1. You need to use the pads and phalanges of your fingers: using pressing, gradually increasing movements, slowly rise up from the neck to the back of the head.
  2. Roll along the same line with your fingertips.
  3. Intensely stretch the muscles of the neck and forearm.
  4. Throw your head back, using your palms to make movements as if you were scooping water.
  5. Perform repeated pressing movements on the clusters of lymph nodes on the chest, shoulders, collarbone, back of the head, and temples.
  6. Using rotational movements, intensively massage your cheeks several times.
  7. Along the edges of the contours of the face, perform first light and then more aggressive pinching.
  8. Apply pressure to the attachment points of the facial muscles.
  9. Complete the French sculptural massage with relaxing stroking movements, gradually reducing the pressure.

If you want the contour of your face to become sculpted, beautiful, and clear, be sure to try to master the technique of French sculptural massage from Joëlle Siocco. This is quite difficult to do, since you need to know the anatomical atlas of the face perfectly and skillfully influence the lymph nodes, muscle attachment points and other important points. As for how often to do such a massage, 2 times a week will be quite enough, since the procedure takes a lot of time - about an hour.

This is interesting! All three methods of French massage, if done in a salon, will cost you approximately the same price: from 1,500 to 2,000 rubles per session.

Why the face may become haggard

As you age, your face loses fat, it’s inevitable. And in place of children's chubby cheeks, cheekbones appear. But this can happen earlier, at any period of life, for example, due to weight loss due to illness. Let's take a closer look at some of the reasons.

  • Natural aging.

As you age, your skin loses its elasticity due to decreased collagen production. The subcutaneous volume of fat decreases, cells lose the necessary water. As a result, the skin becomes flabby, dry and stops “holding its shape”, wrinkles appear.

  • Oncology.

Unexplained weight loss and a sickly appearance are often the only signs of undiagnosed cancer. Subsequently, chemotherapy and various procedures lead to a decrease in appetite, and the face looks exhausted.

  • Eating disorders.

Anorexia nervosa and bulimia lead to significant weight loss. In especially severe cases, food ceases to be absorbed, and the person loses weight to a critical state. People with eating disorders often do not consume enough protein (which contains essential collagen). The body does not reproduce new cells, the skin sags.

  • Digestive problems.

A haggard face is one of the signs that not everything is going smoothly with the digestive system. Liver cirrhosis, gluten intolerance, Crohn's disease, pancreatitis, colitis, viral gastroenteritis (stomach flu) and parasitic infections increase the risks.

  • Depressed state.

Every person experiences depression differently. Many people experience a decrease in appetite, which leads to weight loss and thinning of the fat layer on the face. In addition, many manufacturers of antidepressants and tranquilizers claim weight loss as a side effect of taking the drug.

  • Extreme weight loss.

If you consume fewer calories than you burn, your whole body will lose weight, not just its individual parts. Therefore, the face too. Nutrient deficiencies and dietary restrictions negatively impact skin health. Iron deficiency manifests itself as unhealthy pallor.

  • Intense sports activities.

How to lose weight correctly and keep your face without wrinkles?

Exercise also plays a huge role in losing weight on your face. People who exercise regularly, such as marathon runners, may develop gym face syndrome.

  • Lack of sleep and chronic stress.

When the body is in a state of stress for a long time, it begins to work for wear. He eats little, sleeps little, works a lot. With such an inadequate regime, the first thing that suffers is appearance. Remember how easily you can tell from a person that he has been awake all night: a dull complexion and circles under his eyes.

  • Sun rays.

UV radiation is the main doctor of youth. Love of the sun and neglect of protective means lead to thinning, sagging and wrinkled facial skin.

Lip filter

The area is located between the base of the nose and the upper lip. Two stripes that descend vertically from the nose to the lip, as if lifting it up, are called “filtrum columns.” The area has a pronounced relief in youth, which becomes less noticeable over the years. For most people, it disappears completely in old age.

Many people do not even know that the filtrum immediately reveals age; they are more worried about the appearance of such signs of facial aging as purse-string wrinkles. When restoring the tone of the mouth area, cosmetologists also correct the columns of the philtrum. To do this, an elastic thread is inserted into the contour of the upper lip or the strips are filled with hyaluronic acid filler.

Your eyes give away your age

Signs of aging eyes include drooping eyelids, bags under the eyes and wrinkles at the outer corner. To correct age-related changes, plastic surgery methods are used. To combat sagging skin and hernias, blepharoplasty and circumferential lifting are performed.

SM-Clinic doctors correct signs of aging in women using effective techniques. We use certified drugs and modern equipment. For consultation, make an appointment with our specialists.

Massage the ears and ear muscles surrounding the external auditory canals

are also very important. Although the size of this zone on our head is very small, they seem to hold the tendon helmet and at the same time contribute to its tension and face lift.

Remember, only constant work on yourself brings the desired success. One-time actions give only short-term results. yspeh4life.ru

A few more recommendations:

There is no need to pump up the jowl area. It is necessary to perform exercises to stretch and relax the masticatory muscle, which is very often responsible for their formation. Raise the tone of the middle and upper cheeks (these are pumping exercises). And the area of the jowls (fat sacs) itself needs to be massaged. Massage – pinch (stimulating blood circulation) or cupping, kneading and smoothing.

It is very important to monitor the position of the jaws . They should be relaxed and slightly open. If in the normal state they are rigidly linked to each other, then it will be almost impossible to remove the jowls.
