Palomar laser – comfortable laser rejuvenation

Today, laser hair removal using a diode laser to remove unwanted hair on any part of the face and body has already won millions of admirers around the world, both among professional cosmetologists and patients. There are good reasons for this - only laser hair removal will get rid of unwanted hair on any selected area of the skin in just a few sessions. During the procedure, the beam energy targets the hair follicles, destroying them. This method not only gets rid of excess hair for many years, but also does not harm either the skin or health.

Not only women, but also men are increasingly resorting to laser hair removal. Girls are especially demanding about the smoothness of their arms, legs and thighs, do not tolerate excess hair on the upper lip, cheeks and chin, and pay a lot of attention to hair removal in the armpits and bikini area, including deep and total hair removal of this area. Men prefer laser hair removal on the hands, getting rid of hair on the back of the hands, removing hair on the phalanges of the toes and hands, for hygienic and aesthetic reasons and do not want to see excess hair in the armpits and bikini area, as well as on the elbows and abdomen.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR LASER EPILATION

The effectiveness of laser hair removal largely depends on proper preparation of the skin for the laser hair removal procedure. A few simple tips from our specialists will tell you how to avoid mistakes and increase the effectiveness of the procedure when preparing for hair removal:

  • At least 20 days before the start of a laser hair removal course, do not use electrolysis, tweezers or depilatory wax - it is not recommended to remove hair from the roots in the area of future laser treatment. Having lost the root, the hair loses its pigment, is less susceptible to laser treatment, and the effectiveness of the procedure may noticeably decrease.
  • On the day of laser hair removal or the day before, shave the hair where the laser will be applied. Otherwise, the beam energy will be distributed along the entire length of the hair and only part of it will reach the follicle. Shaving will not only eliminate the loss of beam energy, but will also ensure a painless laser hair removal session. If you couldn't shave your hair, it's okay. Our clinic has everything you need: showers, disposable machines, towels, gowns - provided free of charge.
  • 14 days before laser hair removal, refrain from any type of tanning (solarium, sun exposure). Exposure to sunlight and radiation in a solarium traumatizes the skin, it becomes very dry, and laser exposure to damaged skin can cause irritation. And the procedure itself in this case will be quite painful.

A FEW IMPORTANT RULES AFTER LASER EPILATION

  • Do not take a hot bath, do not go to the sauna, bathhouse or massage for the first 3-4 days after the procedure. After laser hair removal, the damaged hair follicle does not “die” instantly, but hot water treatments and massage stimulate blood circulation, including in the area where it is localized, which can provoke its “resuscitation.” Allow the hair follicle to die peacefully.
  • Do not sunbathe for at least a week after laser hair removal. Under the influence of sunlight or radiation in a solarium, a hair follicle damaged by a laser can awaken to life. Exposure to direct UV rays a priori stimulates hair growth on the face and body - this is a genetically programmed skin protection mechanism. Therefore, if you are already in the process of undergoing a course of laser hair removal, avoid tanning or use sunscreen in the areas affected by the laser.
  • If the time has come for the next laser hair removal procedure, but there is no opportunity to visit the clinic, then the regrown hair can only be shaved off, but not pulled out. If you pull out the root, then the laser simply will have nothing to work with at the next session and the course of laser hair removal will have to be extended.

WHO IS SUITABLE FOR LASER EPILATION?

Laser hair removal is an ideal long-term hair removal method for those who:

  • experiences pain, discomfort and skin irritation from other methods of depilation;
  • tired of constantly shaving unwanted hair;
  • dreams of forgetting forever about the problem of ingrown hairs and folliculitis;
  • has increased sweating in the armpits, intimate areas, etc.;
  • wants to have beautiful and smooth skin on any desired area of the face and body.

Competitors of the device

In its price segment, Palomar Vectus competes with the Candela GentleLase Pro alexandrite laser and Lutronic Advantage Power Plus™ and LightSheer diode devices. Other semiconductor models are inferior to it in terms of performance.

The Korean hair removal laser Ruikd Lamis XL is a leader in numerous ratings; it is inferior to Palomar in hair removal efficiency, but surpasses it in the capabilities and comfort of procedures. It supports classic and dynamic hair removal modes, non-ablative rejuvenation function. At the same time, the laser costs 2.5 times less than Palomar Vectus.

Instructions

Preparation for laser hair removal:

  • do not sunbathe 2 weeks before the session;
  • stop taking antibiotics and drugs that increase photosensitivity within a week (the list is determined by a cosmetologist);
  • do not remove hair in any way that damages the follicles, do not bleach them;
  • Before the session, the hair is shaved down to 1 mm.

Hair removal is performed with a conductive gel, which reduces energy loss. Sensitive patients may use a local anesthetic. During the session, avoid areas with moles, tattoos and keloid scars.

After the procedure, slight redness and swelling of the skin occurs as a reaction to light exposure. For healing, ointments with panthenol are used. It is prohibited to visit the sauna, solarium, or swimming pool for two weeks after the session. When going outside, use a cream with UV protection. Such precautions will prevent pigmentation disorders as a side effect of the laser.

Help The laser only affects vegetation in the anagen phase. For radical hair removal, several sessions of hardware hair removal are required.

The number of procedures on Palomar ranges from 4 to 6. The breaks between the first and second sessions depend on the treatment area: from 1 month on the face, to 2-3 on the legs and back. The duration of the intervals between subsequent sessions increases because there are fewer active follicles.

Note Palomar procedures are safe for phototypes I-VI.

Palomar Star Lux 500, Lux nozzle 1540

A real alternative to laser resurfacing and surgical circular facelift, long lasting lifting effect.
The modern method of non-ablative fractional laser rejuvenation will quickly and safely stop age-related changes, get rid of wrinkles, restore skin elasticity and excellent appearance.

We are pleased to offer you rejuvenation procedures using the American Palomar Star Lux 500 system and the Lux 1540 attachment, recognized today as the “gold standard” of fractional laser technologies. Today, many manufacturers equip their devices with fractional modes. But it was Palomar Medical Technologies that in 2004 was the first in the world to patent the fractional principle of laser exposure.

Procedures using the Palomar Lux 1540 laser provide an excellent, very natural, lasting effect of skin rejuvenation by enhancing its internal resources: stimulating the production of its own collagen and improving microcirculation. Moreover, the result is visible after the first procedure: wrinkles disappear, the oval of the face is tightened, the skin begins to glow. With the help of Palomar, you can even treat such traditionally “difficult” areas as the crow’s feet area.

Reviews

Natalya, client, Minsk

The cooled sapphire optics on the Palomar didn't help me much - during the session it felt like I was getting an electric shock. But the result is noticeable. I agree to endure it, and I recommend this hair removal. Still, it’s better than regular shaving and sugaring.

I did 4 sessions on Palomar for legs, bikini and armpits. The procedure is painful, but you can endure it. The results were most noticeable in the armpits and slower in the bikini area. After 4 sessions, hair practically does not grow. I remove single hairs with a razor. The cosmetologist warned that for the result you will need to undergo 2 more procedures.

Olga, client, Moscow

Palomar Vectus advertising claims that the procedure is painless, but this is a lie! I needed an anesthetic on my armpits, otherwise the burning sensation was difficult to tolerate, especially at increased power. But after four sessions, I no longer use a razor for three weeks. The most important thing is that the black spots on the skin, which I was embarrassed about and felt unshaven, disappeared. Now in the summer and in the gym I don’t need T-shirts with sleeves.

The Palomar Vectus laser device is suitable for hair removal on any part of the body. After the procedure, hair falls out within 1-3 weeks, depending on the treatment area. If during this time the hair has weakened and falls out easily, it means that the hair removal was successful.

What you should know about hair removal

WHY SEVERAL LASER EPILATION PROCEDURES ARE NECESSARY

Complete hair removal is impossible in one laser hair removal session. This is due to the fact that only hair that is in the active growth stage (anagen) can be affected by the energy of any laser. It is at this stage that the melanin pigment is formed in them, which is affected by the laser. That is why laser hair removal will be effective only in this phase of the hair’s life.

Every day, only 15-20% of all hair on the surface of the skin is in the growth phase, has a pronounced pigment and is subject to laser hair removal. At the same time, on the face and body there are hairs in the intermediate stage (catagen) and resting stage (telogen). Replacing each other, the hair “awakens” each in its own cycle.

Therefore, at the time of the laser hair removal procedure, on average, no more than 15–20% of hair follicles are removed, and to remove all hair in the treatment area, a course of several sessions is required - how many and how often they will need to be done is determined individually. In our clinic and on our device, this usually takes no more than 6–8 procedures.

The first two laser hair removal sessions are usually performed 30-40 days apart. Then the pause between them can increase to 40-90 days, but it all depends on the individual hair growth rate, hormonal levels and other factors.

WHAT RESULTS TO EXPECT AFTER LASER EPILATION

Do not expect that hair will instantly and forever disappear from the surface of the skin after a laser hair removal session. Hair follicles are gradually destroyed after laser exposure and hair with a dead root will begin to leave your skin 5-10 days after the procedure.

Hair follicles have one interesting property - they can “come to life”. Clinical practice shows that the good effect of a full course of laser hair removal procedures lasts for a very long time - from 2 to 8 years, but after this time, some hair follicles may “wake up” and the hair, accordingly, begin to grow. This problem can be successfully solved by conducting 2-3 laser hair removal sessions per year in areas with awakened hair follicles.

How the Palomar laser works

If we compare laser rejuvenation methods, it is quite logical to be guided by several criteria - how effective is this procedure, is it safe and does it cause discomfort? The Palomar laser meets all these criteria.

The technique was created and first tested in the USA in 2001, after which it began to be successfully used throughout the world. The operating principle of the Palomar laser is based on the fact that the skin is exposed to different impulses (long and short), as well as their combination. With a short pulse of laser radiation, the effect of ablation (tissue rejection) is achieved, and with a long pulse, the effect of coagulation (mainly of protein) is achieved.

Read more about ablative and non-ablative fractional rejuvenation here.

The Palomar laser is capable of penetrating the skin up to only 1.0-1.2 mm, carrying out a fractional effect not on the dermis (deep layers of the skin), but on its surface layer. This allows the technology to be used for cosmetic and aesthetic purposes.

During the session, laser microbeams of a high degree of efficiency and density are applied to the skin, under the influence of which mechanisms for enhanced production of elastin and collagen are launched in the epidermis. The technique is gentle, does not require anesthesia and does not lead to severe pain.
