Every woman strives for high ideals, among which beautiful, proportional and lush breasts are of great importance. Many girls still look up to the 50s star Marilyn Monroe, who to this day is considered a sex symbol thanks to not only her bright appearance and ideal figure, but also her expressive bust.
Modern possibilities of plastic surgery amaze with their progressiveness and innovation, allowing to improve any figure and eliminate defects of the mammary glands. Breast lipofilling (fatgrafting) is a new and completely safe technique used to increase breast size, improve its shape and contours by transplanting one’s own fat deposits. The substance of fat cells is taken from areas of excessive accumulation of subcutaneous fat, thereby solving another problem. As a rule, this is the area of the abdomen, thighs and buttocks.
The main advantage of the procedure is its naturalness, since the woman is injected with her own fat, and not foreign implants, which often do not take root. Also, using fat injections, a specialist recreates the individual shape of the breast and can improve its condition in problem areas.
Physical exercises for breast enlargement
It is unrealistic to increase the volume of the mammary gland itself with the help of physical exercises. This method only allows you to adjust the shape of the breast. And also improve her appearance and condition due to muscle growth. At the same time, you must be prepared to withstand the full brunt of regular loads, since periodic exercises will not bring the planned result. In any case, this method is not comparable to plastic surgery.
Advantages of the technique:
- maintaining a healthy lifestyle;
- maintaining good physical shape;
- maintaining a regime of constant physical activity.
Disadvantages of the technique:
- does not enlarge the breasts;
- does not bring permanent results;
- excessively pumps up the muscles, making the figure masculine.
How is the procedure performed?
First, the woman is referred to a plastic surgeon for an examination. Before the breast lipofilling procedure, a diagnosis is carried out. A week before the procedure, avoid alcohol and blood thinning medications.
Lipofilling is carried out in three stages:
1. First, the specialist receives natural material - fat is pumped out from problem areas. For this, a special tube with a rounded end is used. The resulting subcutaneous fat is placed in a sterile container and sent for further processing.
2. The procedure for cleaning the collected material is carried out using a centrifuge and a special solution. This allows unnecessary tissue and blood to be separated from autologous fat, which will be transplanted into the patient’s mammary glands.
3. The purified mixture is injected in small portions into problem areas of the chest - subcutaneously, intramuscularly or between muscles, but not into the gland itself.
The success of the procedure largely depends on the professionalism of the doctor and adherence to technology. The result of correctly performed breast lipofilling can be assessed almost immediately visually and in a photo taken after the injection to compare the results.
Women who have tried the procedure of transplanting their own fat clearly see the results before and after breast lipofilling. Very often this encourages them to correct other flaws in their appearance using this technique.
Special diets for breast enlargement
It is worth noting that with any diet, the gained mass is distributed evenly throughout the body. This means that not only the breasts are enlarged, but also other areas. The breasts, abdomen, hips and buttocks gain the most volume. This is explained by the fact that the tendency to local fat deposits is genetically inherent in every person. And it is impossible to make sure that only the mammary glands grow with a certain diet. Most often, high-calorie foods, as well as cabbage and hop infusion, are recommended as a miraculous alternative. The maximum that can cause the latter is a burn of the esophagus.
Advantages of the technique:
- strict adherence to diet;
- eating foods rich in proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins, and minerals.
Disadvantages of the technique:
- enlarges all areas of the body;
- leads to a forced imbalance in the functioning of the digestive tract;
- increases total mass;
- can lead to obesity;
- overloads the liver and pancreas;
- not suitable for those suffering from most diseases.
Disadvantages of the periareolar approach around the areola
The main disadvantage of the periareolar approach around the areola is that the mammary gland is injured during the operation, and there is a risk of damage to the milk ducts. In the future, this may negatively affect breastfeeding and even make it impossible. For this reason, the periareolar approach is not recommended for women who plan to have children and breastfeed them. At the same time, the disadvantage can be ignored if the children are beyond infancy and another pregnancy is not included in the woman’s plans.
Breast augmentation with your own fat
This is one of the progressive and modern methods. It is successful in the presence of local fat deposits in sufficient quantities. But transplanted material (even your own) does not always take root. This is due to the fact that fatty tissue does not have a blood supply. Restoration of the capillary network for adequate tissue nutrition occurs only in a limited area. Therefore, some of the fat is excreted. This technique is suitable for breast enlargement by only 1–1.5 sizes. At the same time, the collection of the substance is performed efficiently, painlessly and easily. Most often, the buttocks, abdomen, and thighs serve as donor areas.
Advantages of the technique:
- effective for correcting breast asymmetry;
- can be used to equalize the volume of the breasts;
- is a minimally invasive technology.
Disadvantages of the technique:
- suitable only for corrective manipulations;
- increases breast size by only one and a half sizes;
- the fat sometimes resolves and requires re-injection.
Submammary access: advantages
A submammary approach is a surgical approach in which an incision is made along the fold under the breast. The main advantage of the method is a high degree of safety. During surgery, tissue trauma is minimal. The mammary glands are not affected, therefore there is not even the slightest risk of damaging the milk ducts. After the operation, the woman will be able to breastfeed without any restrictions.
The second advantage is an excellent overview of the surgical field and implant pockets. This feature minimizes surgical risk and allows for optimal aesthetic results. The possibility of installing large-volume implants should also be taken into account, which is of interest to women who want to enlarge their bust by 1.5-2 sizes.
Breast augmentation with Macroline injections
This is a product based on hyaluronic acid. Its components are compatible with the tissues of the human body, so the drug is safe. After the expiration date, it breaks down into carbon dioxide and water. Optimally eliminated from the body. It keeps the shape of the breasts for about a year, so it requires repeated insertion. It can provoke asymmetry of the mammary glands, the formation of a rough capsule, and can also migrate.
Advantages of the technique:
- is a non-surgical method;
- carried out very quickly;
- does not cause harm to the body.
Disadvantages of the technique:
- carries a risk of infection and complications;
- has a short-term effect;
- may not resolve, causing encapsulation;
- leads to constant financial costs.
Breast augmentation and lift
Restoring breast shape through plastic surgery is considered normal today. There are many operations designed for one purpose or another to enlarge, tighten, or reduce breasts. But often, to achieve a better result, it is necessary to carry out several types of operations simultaneously. This allows you to immediately get beautiful breasts and shorten the recovery period. This type of operation is called simultaneous, or combined, as well as one-stage.
The most popular combination of surgeries is a combination of breast augmentation and breast lift. In some cases, this combination is the only possible way to completely restore the shape and volume of the breast.
Let's take a closer look at what simultaneous mastopexy and breast augmentation are.
WHO IS THE OPERATION FOR?
Typically, a combined operation is performed:
• after pregnancy and lactation. As a rule, after breastfeeding ends, the glandular tissue becomes smaller, and the skin remains stretched and cannot return to its previous shape. Even if adipose tissue replaces the glandular tissue, this will not save the situation, since fat is not able to maintain the shape of the mammary glands.
• after significant or sudden weight loss. In this case, simultaneous surgery is performed if the patient wants to maintain a large breast size after losing weight.
• when replacing implants. If a woman wants to reduce her breast size, but does not want to become the owner of the first size, endoprostheses are replaced and excess skin is removed so that the breasts take on an elastic shape and do not appear saggy.
Typically, surgeons advise performing mastopexy with the installation of implants if the patient does not intend to have children in the future. The fact is that after childbirth and breastfeeding, the results of the operation may disappear and then the correction will have to be done again. Breast lifting and enlargement do not interfere with breastfeeding, but after pregnancy and lactation, the skin on the breast will stretch again.
ADVANTAGES OF SIMULTANEOUS OPERATION
After acquiring the desired breast, a woman often gets rid of previously experienced psychological complexes, self-esteem and self-confidence increase.
Thanks to this, patients experience positive changes in their interactions with people and in the area of sexual relationships. In addition, patients' posture and gait improve. Thanks to simultaneous breast augmentation and lifting, a woman immediately gets the expected result - firm and full breasts. A one-stage operation has two most important advantages: one anesthesia and one rehabilitation period. In the case of a two-stage transformation, the patient first undergoes mastopexy, then augmentation, which requires two rehabilitation periods. A one-stage operation saves the patient from such a long recovery.

Disadvantages of the axillary method
Augmentation mammoplasty using axillary access does not have any significant disadvantages. The relative disadvantages of the method appear only when complex aesthetic breast correction is necessary, when the installation of implants is one of the stages of changing the shape of the mammary glands.
The axillary method does not allow performing simultaneous plastic surgery of the nipple-areolar complex or eliminating the consequences of breast ptosis. It is not always possible to correct severe breast asymmetry. Tubular breast surgery also requires large-scale correction, which is not possible through the axillary approach.
Disadvantages of inframammary fold access
In the area of the inframammary fold, nerves pass to the nipple-areolar complex. Damage to these nerves during surgery can result in decreased sensation in the nipple and areola. The risk of nerve damage is small but cannot be completely ruled out.
The second disadvantage is the formation of a postoperative scar in the submammary fold. When the body is in a vertical position, the scar is hidden, but in a horizontal position it is clearly visible. Over time, the scar fades and becomes less noticeable, but does not disappear completely. If a woman is concerned about the prospect of visible signs of surgery, the possibility of installing implants through an axillary or periareolar approach should be considered.
The third feature of the submammary approach is not a disadvantage, although it should be taken into account. The method is not indicated for women with a “girlish” breast shape, in which there is virtually no fold under the mammary glands.
Axillary approach: advantages
With the axillary approach, implants are installed through incisions in the armpit. The method has many advantages, which allows it to be called the gold standard of augmentation mammoplasty. The operation is performed using endoscopic equipment, which minimizes tissue trauma and speeds up the recovery process.
The axillary approach for mammoplasty allows you to hide the postoperative scar in the armpit, and from an aesthetic point of view it is significantly superior to the submammary approach. On the other hand, when installing an implant through the axillary fossa, there is no risk of damaging the milk ducts, which gives it an advantage over the periareolar method.
Mammoplasty through the axillary approach has virtually no restrictions. You can enlarge your breasts by several sizes at once and change their shape without the risk of contouring, displacement, rotation of the implant or the development of long-term complications.
