Dmitry Borisovich was born on May 7, 1941 in Kazan. He spent his youth in the city of Kamensk, Rostov region, where he graduated from high school. After graduating from the Rostov State Medical Institute in 1965, he completed postgraduate studies in clinical chemistry at the Medical Radiological Research Center of the USSR Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, where he defended his Ph.D. thesis. From 1967 to 1972 he worked as a resident and then as a junior researcher at the Department of Molecular Biology of the Medical Radiological Research Center of the USSR Russian Academy of Medical Sciences.

From 1972 to 1976, he headed the country's first fully automated centralized biochemistry laboratory of the 4th Main Directorate of the USSR.

From 1976 to 1996 he worked as head of the biochemistry laboratory of the Scientific Center for Cardiovascular Surgery named after. A. N. Bakuleva RAMS, Moscow. In 1986 he defended his doctoral dissertation - “Biochemical diagnostics and assessment of myocardial damage during heart surgery.” In 1987 he was awarded the scientific title of professor.

From 1996 to the present, he worked as the head of scientific programs at Unimed Laboratories CJSC, Moscow.

Talented teacher, scientist Saprygin D.B. devoted all his knowledge, abilities and energy to the honorable task of training doctors, teachers and researchers since 1996 at the Department of Biochemistry, now the Department of Medical Biochemistry and Immunopathology, Academic Educational Center for Translational and Fundamental Medicine Russian Medical Academy of Continuing Professional Education of the Ministry of Health of Russia, sharing his extensive knowledge with students knowledge.

Dmitry Borisovich has written more than 500 scientific works, including 5 monographs, manuals and manuals on the specialty, which are reference books for a wide range of specialists. More than 10 doctoral and master's theses were defended under his leadership.

Professor Saprygin D.B. was the editor-in-chief of the journal Laboratory Medicine, a member of the editorial boards of the international journals LabMedica and Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics.

The Academy and the Department of Medical Biochemistry and Immunopathology suffered an irreparable loss. A respected colleague, teacher, sensitive, attentive, wise, kind, fair, sympathetic person who loved life in all its manifestations has passed away.

The staff of the Academy and the department mourn the death of Saprygin D.B. and express deep condolences to her family and friends. The memory of Dmitry Borisovich Saprygin will forever remain in our hearts.
