What cosmetic procedures do cosmetologists themselves resort to?

Every woman wants to know how to preserve beauty, “stop time,” or even turn it back. Modern cosmetology offers hundreds of different devices and procedures to solve this problem. We asked cosmetologists at the DoctorPlastic clinic about which modern cosmetology methods are the most effective. All of them are not only professionals, but also women who, due to the nature of their activities, have experienced the effects of many existing procedures and have tried all the new products. And, of course, each of the female cosmetologists has already determined “her own” - the most effective technique.

We asked experienced cosmetologists from a leading metropolitan clinic to reveal their professional secrets to us and tell us about their favorite and most effective beauty procedure that they personally use.

Yulia Vladimirovna Karlsson

General Director of the DoctorPlastic clinic

Softlifting is the latest method of volumetric facial modeling using fillers based on hyaluronic acid. The method gained enormous popularity in the West, first among movie and show business stars, and then among a wide audience of women. The procedure is much more effective than standard contouring with hyaluronic acid fillers, but is less traumatic.

If we talk about my favorite technique, it is definitely Softlifting . This injection method of express facial rejuvenation is, of course, not the most pleasant procedure, but, in my opinion, the most effective. It harmoniously combines fillers and Botox, while using a “deep” surgical rather than a “superficial” cosmetic approach to injections, which gives a fundamentally different result.

I, as a sophisticated patient and as a professional, like this Swedish technology so much that I invited its creator, Professor Samuelsson, to Russia. Now the world famous plastic surgeon Ulf Samuelsson comes to our DoctorPlastic clinic every month, and my friends and I no longer have to travel to Stockholm specifically to do a Softlift.

Tsyganova Olga Anatolevna

Head of the Department of Cosmetology and Rehabilitation of the DoctorPlastic Clinic, doctor of the highest category

It is very difficult to choose a single procedure among the many modern, truly effective methods, each of which has its own advantages, and what is suitable for one patient may not be useful for another. If we talk about me, then, surprisingly, I DO have such a “basic procedure”. This procedure is ELOS therapy. Everything else is just an addition to it. Moreover, for myself I perform ELOS at maximum energies, which I probably would not risk using for my patients. After all, I know my skin well, I adequately assess the risks, and in practice I am convinced that I need just such regimes.

After the procedure, the face turns red, slight swelling is possible, but “rehabilitation” takes only 20-30 minutes, after which the redness and swelling disappear, and I am back in shape. The effect of one course of ELOS lasts me almost a whole year.

At high energies, ELOS is a rather painful procedure; if I had found another equally effective technique, I would probably give up ELOS. But so far I don’t see anything else as effective for myself.

Doctor of the highest category, cosmetologist-dermatologist at DoctorPlastic clinic

I, like any of my patients, want to stay young as long as possible and always look attractive. I probably don’t have a favorite technique after all. For myself, I use a variety of procedures and really love trying new things.

Among my favorite cosmetological techniques is biorevitalization

If we talk about what gives the most noticeable visible effect, then among the favorite techniques that I use regularly is biorevitalization. These are injections of modern natural preparations of hyaluronic acid, which serve to restore the structure and rejuvenate all layers of the skin. Hyaluronic acid, a real “elixir” for skin health, gives a wonderful effect of a fresh, rested face, and the procedure itself is not so scary. We use special very thin needles, so everything is quite tolerable.

Natalya Viktorovna Vasilyeva

Doctor of the highest category, dermatologist-cosmetologist at DoctorPlastic clinic

My favorite procedure is LPG endermology. In order to keep my body in shape and my skin toned, I always undergo an LPG massage course twice a year, consisting of 10 procedures. Every woman has some problems, for example, cellulite, imperfect body contours or insufficiently elastic skin. LPG effectively solves these problems.

Having overcome my fear and my dislike for needles, I completed a course of injection treatment with the trichologist at our clinic, Galina Volkova.

For the face, I use hardware cosmetology procedures - RF lifting and photorejuvenation. Both methods are quite effective and relatively painless, which is especially important for me, because I am afraid of injections, although I see how effective injection techniques are and I myself administer them to my patients.

The only thing I dared to do was mesotherapy for the scalp. After giving birth, I, like many women, had problems with hair loss. Of course, I knew how to solve them and, having overcome my fear and my dislike for needles, I completed a course of injection treatment with the trichologist at our clinic, Galina Volkova. By the way, the effect, as expected, was very good.

Any woman, regardless of profession, wants to look her best! When you need to quickly achieve the maximum effect - to make your look open and youthful, to correct wrinkles and folds - the most effective method is a combination of botulinum therapy and contouring with hyaluronic acid fillers.

Botox is one of the most effective methods of combating wrinkles. I know this from myself. A simple, not too expensive procedure, and after 3-4 days you look noticeably younger. You can raise your eyebrows, reduce nasolabial folds, and rejuvenate your neck. But the injections must be done by a very good specialist.

All disappointments from Botox can only arise from its incorrect use. I do injections about twice a year, in our clinic, with my colleague Natalya Vasilyeva, and I am always very pleased with the effect.

Scars after plastic surgery

Specialists from the capital's largest beauty clinic, DoctorPlastic, have been successfully dealing with the problem of scar treatment for a long time. Not only DoctorPlastic patients undergo postoperative rehabilitation here, but also clients of other plastic surgeons and clinics that do not have their own rehabilitation departments. DoctorPlastic is also used to treat scars from burns and other injuries. The head of the rehabilitation department of the clinic, Olga Anatolyevna Tsyganova, told us about the modern possibilities of medicine in the field of scar treatment.

What will the postoperative scar look like?

The formation of a scar depends on the individual characteristics of the body and on the correct and timely application of the suture. If you are a client of a plastic surgeon, most likely the suture will be applied correctly. Then the scar may turn out thin, almost invisible, if no complications arise and you take proper care of the scar (the main thing is that the seam should not be injured: scratched, stretched, rubbed with clothes, etc.). If the stitches were placed not by a plastic surgeon, but by the first doctor who came across, you can still have time to fix this in the first day after the injury, for example, contact plastic surgeon O.P. at DoctorPlastic. Rabodzei. But if more than 2 days have passed since the suture was placed, it’s too late to run to a plastic surgeon. At this stage, it is necessary to immediately begin conservative treatment, which usually begins with a consultation with an experienced scar specialist.

When should scar treatment begin?

There is a myth that scar treatment should be started no earlier than it has “ripened” - 2-3 months after the suture is applied. This is wrong! After 2 months, you may have time to form rough and dense fibrosis, which will then be difficult to do anything about. So remember: early start of rehabilitation is the key to success! It is necessary to seek help already 2-3 days after suturing. At this time, physiotherapeutic procedures that prevent the proliferation of fibrous tissue work effectively. To prevent the formation of pathological scars, you may be recommended one or more procedures from the following list: magnetic therapy, phonophoresis, microcurrent therapy, endermology, d'arsonval or cryotherapy.

For patients prone to the formation of fibrous scars, intravenous drip infusion of ozonated saline solution is mandatory at this stage. It saturates the blood with oxygen, improves oxygenation and tissue trophism, and in the vast majority of cases successfully prevents the formation of severe fibrous scarring.

The most dangerous period for scar formation is 3-4 weeks. At this time, there is a great danger of starting the process of pathological proliferation of connective tissue, which usually leads to the formation of a keloid scar.

If the patient’s body is prone to the formation of keloid scars, it is in the 3rd week that a sudden rapid proliferation of cells producing connective tissue begins. At this time, all measures must be taken to prevent the formation of a rough scar. At the first signs of the onset of keloid formation, local irradiation of the scar with Bucca rays is recommended, which effectively stops the growth of scar tissue.

Late rehabilitation

The scar takes on its final appearance in approximately 6-12 months. But even at this time the situation can be corrected or, at least, significantly improved. For “hopelessly” bad scars, surgical excision of the scar is usually used. The plastic surgeon completely excises the scar tissue and applies a neat and thin cosmetic suture. After this, he transfers the patient to a rehabilitator, who will monitor the correct formation of a new thin scar and, if necessary, prescribe the necessary preventive or therapeutic procedures.

If the scar is not so bad and can be treated conservatively, laser resurfacing of the scar, injections of collost, longidase, diprospan or other procedures may be prescribed, depending on the type of scar.

What you need to know about scar treatment?

  1. Do not believe promises to completely eliminate the scar or remove the scar. So far this cannot be done in any clinic in the world, at any cost, or using any modern methods. However, you can make the scar much less noticeable, almost invisible.
  2. If you are injured, it is better to immediately contact an experienced plastic surgeon to get a suture, rather than go to a regular emergency room.
  3. Scar treatment should begin immediately, 2-3 days after the suture is applied.
  4. At the first signs of the formation of a pathological scar, it is necessary to URGENTLY CONTACT A DOCTOR, and not to a surgeon, but to a cosmetologist-dermatologist who specializes in the treatment of scars.

If you are looking for specialists in the treatment of scars, we recommend that you make an appointment with Olga Anatolyevna Tsyganova, a dermatologist of the highest category, head of the rehabilitation department of the DoctorPlastic clinic.
