How can you replace cosmetic oil for the face - reviews

Caring for your face and body in general requires a lot of cosmetics. Of course, every woman wants the composition to contain only natural ingredients that will bring as much benefit as possible, and the amount of harm will disappear to zero. Very often now on the shelves of cosmetic stores there are products that contain various kinds of fragrances and various chemical compounds.

These substances can harm the delicate skin of the face, so you should try to avoid such skincare products. As a result, many girls came to the conclusion that they began to use oil for facial care. But is it possible to do this?

It is impossible to unequivocally answer the question of whether a mask can be used instead of a cream. Some cosmetologists claim that replacement can be done easily. But others are against this use of facial oil.

How do cosmetologists who do not recommend using oil instead of cream argue their point of view?

  1. Natural oils are 100% fat (lipids). They are also the basic basis of all cosmetic creams, but the concentration of oils in these cosmetic industry products does not exceed 40%. All other components of the chemical formula are selected in accordance with the skin type and age of potential consumers. Facial skin will benefit only if you use the cream in strict accordance with the recommendations indicated on its label. Even the most expensive cream and natural oil, if used for other purposes, can cause harm to the condition of the skin.
  2. Fatty oil, used in its pure form to care for oily skin, can clog pores, creating conditions for the formation of comedones and pimples. For the same reason, you should not use a greasy cream to care for young, oily skin.
  3. Regular use of natural oil instead of cream can lead to excessive dryness of the skin, so the cream should still be in your cosmetic bag. This paradoxical situation is explained as follows: penetrating inside the skin, natural oils disrupt natural fat metabolism, diluting the natural lipids already contained in it. At the same time, the film created by the oil on the surface of the skin prevents excess moisture from evaporating and prevents them from breathing freely. The result of all these processes is a slowdown in metabolism in dermal cells, dehydration and dry skin.

Most professional cosmetologists, when looking at the possibility of using natural oil instead of cream, agree that:

  • it does not have to be regular;
  • its temporary (local or targeted) use is permissible;
  • the use of natural oil is occasionally allowed in the complete absence of any cream.

Nourishing masks

Don't forget about the vitamins and nutrients that butter can give to your facial skin. To prepare masks, we take, in addition to the main ingredient, fruit or cottage cheese.

  • Walnut. Grind the kernels (15 g) into powder with a blender. Mix walnut powder with butter (10 g), liquid honey (7 ml) and half the yolk. Apply to face, wash off after 25 minutes.
  • Cottage cheese. Three peeled cucumbers (10 g). Mix with butter and soft cottage cheese (20 grams each). This mask should be kept for at least half an hour.
  • Fruity. Grind equal slices of apple, persimmon and banana in a blender. Add 10 grams of butter and 15 milliliters of heavy cream to this fruit puree. With the healing composition on your face, you should rest for a quarter of an hour.

How to use

When caring for facial skin, natural oils can be used:

  • instead of a cosmetic night cream;
  • as a means to facilitate makeup removal;
  • for protection against exposure to active ultraviolet rays (during prolonged stay on the beach);
  • to enhance the effect of usual caring cosmetics (for example, by adding them to a cream or balm);
  • as a basis for preparing nourishing masks.

If natural oils are used to enrich ready-made cosmetics, you should use only natural and very high-quality cosmetics (for example, baby cream), since due to their high penetrating ability, oils can carry along other components of its chemical composition. If the product turns out to be of poor quality, substances undesirable for it may get into the deep layers of the dermis.

Facial cleansing

  1. To cleanse your face with oil, just take a shower and apply a small amount of natural oil (suitable for your skin type) to the steamed skin afterwards. After massaging your face a little, remove the remaining oil with a cotton swab moistened with water. Lightly rinse your face with cool water and pat dry with a cotton towel. Moisturized skin will become matte and have a beautiful color.
  2. Before deep cleansing, the face is steamed, a drop of oil is applied to it, and then a small towel moistened with hot water is placed on the skin. After a few minutes, the oil is washed off with the same towel.

For dry skin

Natural vegetable oils can relieve owners of very thin and dry skin from the appearance of premature wrinkles, all kinds of irritations and an uncomfortable feeling of tightness of the skin.

Instead of cream, they can use the following base oils:

  • Abrikosov.
  • Sesame.
  • Soev.
  • Avocado.
  • Borago.

A more pronounced effect can be obtained by combining base vegetable oil with a combination of essential oils (jasmine, lavender, neroli, rosewood, orange, geranium, myrtle, ylang-ylang).

Bold

All nut oils (derived from hazelnuts, walnuts and pine nuts) are great for oily skin.

Their astringent properties and high content of proteins, vitamins and minerals will not only saturate it with useful substances, but also eliminate excess sebum.

Those with oily skin can also use:

  • rapeseed;
  • almond;
  • mustard;
  • corn;
  • mustard oil.

Contrary to popular belief, oils can normalize the functioning of the sebaceous glands. With their regular use, sebum secretion may decrease over time.

Combined

Combination skin can be cared for with:

  • sunflower;
  • coconut;
  • olive;
  • almond;
  • melted butter;
  • jojoba oils.

When caring for combination skin, it is allowed to use one oil for dry areas, and a completely different one for the T-zone.

  • peach;
  • olive;
  • coconut;
  • castor;
  • linen;

Reviews

  • Anna, 27 years old: “I often use oil not only as a product that helps restore hair structure, but also as a face cream. Several times a month I removed my makeup with this oil and also moisturized my facial skin. Matte skin is the desired effect. Sometimes it seems to me that there is nothing even better than butter. The cream often doesn’t help me.”
  • Irina, 30 years old: “I do a face mask twice every 7 days. To do this, I mix peach and jojoba. To remove inflammation from the skin, you need peach oil. I really liked this mask. Very soon I will use it constantly, the cream will go away. Silky skin texture and smoothness - this effect is difficult to achieve even when using the most expensive cream. The oil mixture is quite oily. Therefore, it is recommended to apply them to your skin before you go to bed.”
  • Elena, 31 years old: “Even at my age, you need to take care that wrinkles begin to appear as late as possible. That is why I began to look for a way to help prevent their occurrence. I decided to start with the safest and easiest way. I started using jojoba oil. There is one drawback for me personally: I don’t really like the consistency. But I was completely satisfied with the result. Even the oily shine disappeared, and the skin seemed to even out. Now I use it often enough to please myself.”

Vegetable

Vegetable oils, used in their pure form, are most often used to nourish, moisturize and smooth out unwanted wrinkles.

Olive

Olive oil, available in every kitchen, is extremely popular both as a food product and as an excellent skin care product that is beneficial for skin and hair.

When using olive oil:

  • skin cells stop losing precious moisture;
  • the skin aging process slows down;
  • deep nutrition of the skin occurs;
  • skin regeneration processes occur at an accelerated pace.

The secret of the beneficial effect of this oil on the epidermis lies in the incredible richness of the chemical formula, including a multivitamin complex, a combination of fatty acids and microelements.

Sunflower

The biochemical composition of sunflower oil is in no way inferior to olive oil in terms of the amount of polyunsaturated fatty acids, and even surpasses it in the content of the antioxidant - vitamin E.

When using this oil instead of cream, the skin will stop flaking and aging prematurely, regaining its firmness and elasticity. Sunflower oil is used in cosmetology not only for the skin, but various hair masks are also made from it.

How to properly use sunflower oil for hair is indicated in this article.

Castor

The main advantage of castor oil is its ability to soften overly dry and sensitive skin. This property is due to the presence of a whole complex of valuable fatty acids. Since castor oil has a too viscous consistency, it is almost never used in its pure form, adding drops to caring cosmetics or diluting half with natural oil (almond, peach, sesame), which has a softening effect.

Castor

Castor oil can definitely come in handy to regrow your eyebrows after that unfortunate decision to pluck a little more or pluck your eyelashes, just as your grandmother advised. It is obtained from a plant with the unsightly name castor bean, but don’t let that scare you - it helps to smooth out stretch marks and scars a little, a couple of drops can be added to your daily care products, but most importantly, it is indispensable for cleansing the skin. Castor oil gently dissolves impurities and, in combination with moisturizing oil - jojoba or olive - is effectively used in oil cleansing. Contrary to popular belief, in many cases of skin problems it is not necessary to constantly dry out the skin with drugs, but to dissolve impurities without removing the skin's natural oil barrier - and this is where castor oil comes to the rescue.

Margot Marron

Ricinoleic acid, which is part of castor oil, gives it amazing nourishing and softening properties, helps cope with dry skin, flaking and loss of elasticity. However, it can cause an allergic reaction, so you need to use castor oil very carefully and precisely. Apply literally one drop at a time on your eyelashes, spreading from the tips to the base and being careful not to touch the skin of your eyelids.

Essential oils

The addition of essential oils enhances the positive effect obtained from the influence of base vegetable oils.

Coconut

The consistency of coconut essential oil is a fairly thick mass that can moisturize the skin, saturate it with nutrients and, by increasing elasticity, resist the appearance of early wrinkles.

You can purchase the product at the pharmacy for a price of 150 rubles.

Shea butter for facial skin care

A product with an equally solid consistency is shea butter. Room temperature is enough to melt it.

Shea butter, containing a large amount of fats and triglycerides, accelerates the regeneration of skin cells and has a stimulating effect on collagen production. Thanks to these processes, the skin does not lose its elasticity and retains its beauty and health for a long time.

How to apply jojoba oil

Jojoba essential oil has excellent regenerating properties. Thanks to the huge amount of antioxidants included in its composition, jojoba oil has gained fame as a “restorer” of the skin.

Exfoliating masks

As women say in reviews, face oil can serve as an excellent scrub. Try melting a small block of the product and mixing it with half the amount of semolina. You need to apply this mask to your face quickly, before the cereal swells. Apply to cleansed skin and leave for a quarter of an hour. First we wash with warm water, and then with cold water.

Here's another recipe. Stir in a tablespoon of butter, banana pulp and honey until it reaches a creamy consistency. Add a few drops of lemon juice. Apply to the face. After half an hour, wash with warm water. This mask not only helps fight flaking, but also brightens the skin.

Restrictions and contraindications for the use of cosmetic oil

The only contraindication to the use of base oils is the presence of individual intolerance to the product used.

The use of essential oils has more restrictions. They are strictly prohibited when:

  • inflammatory and infectious diseases accompanied by high fever;
  • bleeding tendency;
  • problems with blood formation;
  • the presence of a number of nervous diseases.

If there are problems with blood pressure, blood clotting, or after suffering cardiovascular diseases, restrictions are imposed on the use of certain types of essential oils.

Using natural oils instead of creams can only be beneficial if they are selected correctly (according to skin type) and if a reasonable dosage is observed.
