Victor Nuzhny, MC “LOTOS”: Don’t think that “plastic surgery” is for the rich

You can carry the feeling of dissatisfaction with your appearance for years, or you can get rid of it once and for all by having cosmetic or reconstructive surgery.

Can plastic surgery make you happier? Actually, yes - within certain limits.

If your expectations are realistic, you will actually get the results you expect. Your appearance will change, and so will your self-esteem. You will have a new asset at your disposal that can be used to achieve a new quality of life.

When is plastic surgery needed?

Human health lies not only in the physical component; our emotional and psychological state plays an important role, which also depends on how we look. A person is not always born with symmetrical facial features; Not every woman is born with clear body lines or rounded shapes. Our life also leaves traces on our appearance: these are age-related changes, and the consequences of pregnancy, childbirth, significant weight loss or hormonal changes, and traces of injuries, burns, etc.

But today all this can be corrected with the help of plastic surgery.

Drawings by Viktor Tsoi

manege.spb.ru

Many at the exhibition will recognize Tsoi from a new side: he was not only a musician, poet, movie star, but also an artist. In the largest hall, which is called an “exhibition within an exhibition,” 76 works by Tsoi are shown. Instead of paper and canvases, the musician often wrote on kitchen oilcloth, plastic bags and packaging foam. In his work, he combined the expressionist stylization of Neolithic signs in the spirit of A.R. Penk and the bright primitivist graffiti of Keith Haring: Tsoi often depicted square men playing tennis, having dinner or fishing. At the exhibition of the New Artists group in 1989, he presented a canvas with the phrase “I didn’t have time to paint the picture,” because due to the tour, he really didn’t have time to prepare the painting. It turned out quite in the spirit of Marcel Duchamp and Yves Klein, about whom the Soviet public, of course, did not know then. But they knew about Tsoi in the West - thanks to Joanna Stingray, who not only promoted his music there, but also exported his drawings for sale. One day she showed the work to Andy Warhol - he was impressed and signed a can of Campbell soup for Tsoi. It is kept intact by Stingray and is now on display.

Patients tell

❝more than 30 years ago I had breast reduction surgery. No more back pain and rude comments from guys. More than 20 years ago I had a tummy tuck and liposuction. No more strangers asking if I'm pregnant or if I've recovered from the muscle damage caused by pregnancy. Shortly after that, I had my lips enlarged. Now I don't look so angry. This year I had my bat wings removed. Now my clothes fit better and I don't look like an old woman. I'm 64, look 50, and am more physically active than most 50-year-olds.❞

Guitars, cassettes and suits

manege.spb.ru

For the first time since 1990, Tsoi’s three concert guitars – Kramer, Alvarez and Washburn – were reunited in the Fonoteka hall. Also here you can get acquainted with all the albums of the Kino group and see cassettes signed by the musician. When you approach them, “Aluminum Cucumbers” or “A Star Called the Sun” starts playing in your headphones, and you get the feeling that the songs are being played directly from there. In another room you can listen to a track from the album “Precisely today and precisely now” by the group “New Composers”, which Viktor Tsoi listened to in his car before the fatal accident on August 15, 1990. The musician’s biographer, Vitaly Kalgin, donated that same tape for the exhibition.

For the exhibition, Tsoi’s concert images, which he created himself, were restored. The items were stored in boxes for 30 years and, curators emphasize, were never washed after the musician’s death. Here you can see the iconic black look with a half-open jacket and banana pants, a kimono bought during a trip to Japan in 1990, and a coat from the movie Assa. And also replicas of unusual early suits with white ruffles, a red jacket and silver boots, which did not take root in Leningrad in the 80s. Also on display at the exhibition is a tour cosmetic bag with a razor, black eyeliner, eye shadow and foundation - the musician also painted himself.

Advantages of the Hospital Center

Individual treatment regimen for each patient

For each patient, it is mandatory, even at the pre-hospital stage, that an individual treatment regimen is developed, taking into account all the characteristics of the body: age, health status, medical history, etc. – this approach allows you to minimize risks both during surgery and in the postoperative period, and as a result, ensure the fastest possible rehabilitation with a minimum period of hospital stay.

Multidisciplinary approach

The medical staff of the Hospital Center is a single team made up of expert doctors of different specializations, which allows for a multidisciplinary approach. We treat the patient, seeing in front of us not a list of diseases he has, but a person whose problems are interconnected and interdependent. The therapeutic measures taken are always aimed at overall improvement of the patient’s health, well-being and quality of life, and are not limited to eliminating the symptoms of a specific disease.

Surgical treatment of any level of complexity

The operating doctors of the Hospital Center are proficient in advanced and high-tech methods of performing operations. The combination of highly qualified doctors and innovative equipment allows for surgical treatment of the highest level of complexity.

High-tech, minimally invasive treatment methods

The basis of the treatment methodology carried out at the Hospital Center is the principles of minimizing risks for the patient and the fastest possible rehabilitation.

The implementation of such an approach is possible only by using the most high-tech techniques, modern equipment and the application of the latest achievements of medical science.

The qualifications of doctors combined with modern equipment allow us to successfully implement this approach to treatment.

Fast-track surgery

Fast-track is a comprehensive technique that allows you to minimize the length of a patient’s stay in the hospital without compromising the quality of treatment.

The approach is based on minimizing surgical trauma, reducing the risk of postoperative complications and accelerating recovery after surgery, which provides our patients with a minimum hospital stay.

Thanks to this approach, even complex operations such as cholecystectomy require a hospital stay of no more than 3 days.

Personal medical supervision in the postoperative period

To completely exclude the development of possible complications, the early postoperative period is spent in all patients, regardless of the complexity of the operation, in the intensive care unit under the individual supervision of a resuscitator.

The transfer of the patient to the ward is carried out only in the complete absence of even the minimal possible risks.

Informing relatives 24/7

We are as open as possible and show care not only for the patient, but also for his loved ones. Information about patients' health status is provided to relatives seven days a week, 24 hours a day.

Visiting patients is also possible at any convenient time.

Highly comfortable single and double rooms

Patients are offered spacious, comfortable rooms for single and double occupancy, equipped with everything necessary for rest and recovery.

In the children's department, our young patients are accommodated together with their parents.

Tax deduction

According to the tax legislation of the Russian Federation, each patient has the right to compensation of up to 13% of the amount spent on his treatment, as well as the treatment of close relatives.

Our specialists will prepare for you a package of documents for the tax office for a refund of 13% of the amount of treatment expenses, and will also give recommendations on various ways to interact with the tax office.

Quality indicators of a plastic surgeon

There is a universal list by which it is worth assessing the activities of a specialist:

  • presence of higher education;
  • speciality;
  • extensive work experience;
  • portfolio, preferably with several time intervals after the operation;
  • patient reviews;
  • price of services.

Education

Plastic surgery became a specialty not so long ago. In Russia, it can be possessed by a doctor with education (and, accordingly, experience) in:

  • pediatrics;
  • dentistry;
  • medical business.

A person must also complete a residency in one of the following specialties:

  • surgeon;
  • maxillofacial surgeon;
  • pediatric surgeon;
  • thoracic surgeon;
  • gynecologist, obstetrician;
  • urologist.

In addition, he must have training in the specialty of plastic surgeon and improve his qualifications in it every five years.

Required documents

Based on the foregoing, any practitioner must have the following list of documents confirming his right to conduct operations:

  • diploma of higher education;
  • certificate of specialist in the field of plastic surgery;
  • certificate of completion of advanced training.

Documentation is usually easy to find on the clinic’s website. This is a minimum list, in addition to which it is important to have a profile in a specialty close (to the area of intervention). This way you can be sure that the doctor perfectly knows the anatomy of the part of the body that he will operate on.

For example, when choosing a rhinoplasty expert, you should pay attention to whether he has ENT training. This will also be relevant when looking for a doctor specializing in rhinoseptoplasty.

It is important that the plastic surgeon has membership in the OPREH (Russian Society of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons). This organization has very strict requirements.

Some surgeons claim membership in this organization without having one, so membership must be verified. A list of all doctors in the organization is available on the society’s website. You can also find out whether a specific person is a member by contacting OPREH directly.

In addition, it is necessary to have certificates of completion of various training activities. Such documents are issued by different organizations, so their reliability may be questionable. Consequently, a large number of them can always be decisive when choosing a doctor.

A large number of such documents on the clinic’s website or inside the doctor’s office are impressive, but they are not what make a surgeon a professional.

Experience

Education is the basis, but not the whole qualification. A plastic surgeon masters his profession with experience, and therefore it is especially important to clarify where and how the training took place, how broad and long the practice was.

By definition, a couple of years of experience cannot be considered serious. It is best to consider those doctors who have about 8-10 years of experience.

A well-known clinic will not be a guarantee of professionalism; only the personal merits of a particular doctor are important. Of course, it is almost impossible to find out the exact number of operations performed. Only the surgeon himself knows this figure, but it is not a fact that he will tell you the real data.

When choosing, you should give preference to a surgeon who specializes in a certain type of operation. Moreover, the fewer of these a doctor has, the better he is in each of them - daily practice hones his skills.

If, for example, you are impressed by the abdominoplasty portfolio, but you require another type of intervention, for which the doctor performs operations a couple of times a year, you should not contact him with your question. The surgeon you need should do exactly what interests you as often as possible, and not just be a good specialist.
