The actress also acted a lot in cinema, she has more than 100 roles, dubbing several films and dubbing cartoons.
Tatyana Vasilyeva was married twice, is the mother of two children, and has three grandchildren.
The woman’s creative career debuted in the years after the war. At the time the fighting began, she did not have time to finish school.
However, closer to adulthood, the girl got the opportunity to try her hand at acting and crafts.
Despite all the difficulties and problems, she achieved her goal. Neither poverty nor a half-starved childhood became an obstacle. Moreover, she did it so successfully that she continues to work in the field of big cinema and theater to this day, despite her advanced age.
Over the years of creative activity, Vera Vasilyeva managed to try herself in a variety of roles. In the early period, when her career was just beginning, she starred as young girls. When I turned out to be older, I embodied the images of mothers. Finally, she became a wise grandmother.
Over the years of creative activity, the woman managed to appear in several dozen films and TV series. And also in about the same number of theatrical productions.
The artist's successful career is not over. Even now, when she has passed 90, she continues to delight audiences on big screens and theater stages.
Theater
After receiving her acting education, Tatyana was invited to the Satire Theater, where she served for almost 15 years. She was immediately assigned a comedic role.

Childhood and growing up
Since childhood, Tatyana began to dream of acting on stage in the theater. As a girl, she wanted to study in the studio of a theater group, but due to poor performance at school, she did not get permission from her parents. Tatyana pretended to go to lessons with a tutor, and secretly from everyone she attended literary and theater clubs.
After graduating from high school, Tatyana again had to be cunning in order to realize her dream. The girl said that she would go to the capital on an excursion, but on the same day she submitted documents to the best theater universities in Moscow. She was accepted into the Moscow Art Theater and VGIK, but the future actress entered the first institution, becoming a student of V. Markov.
Of course, the parents were against such a decision of their daughter. There was a terrible scandal at home, the father rushed to the capital to bring Tanya home, but the Moscow Art Theater teachers were able to convince Grigory that her daughter was very talented and there was no need to deprive her of the opportunity to realize her dream.
Childhood
Tatyana Itsykovich (the actress’s maiden name) was born on February 28, 1947 in Leningrad. Her father, a graduate of an economics university, could only get a job as a mechanic because of his nationality; he went to the front during the Great Patriotic War, and her mother, together with her eldest daughter Alla, survived the war years in evacuation, working as a teacher in an orphanage. After the victory, the family reunited in Leningrad, the father got a job as a milling fitter at a factory, and the mother left work shortly after Tatyana’s birth and devoted all her time to raising children.
Tatyana Vasilyeva with her parents
The family lived poorly, on one father's salary, in a typical Leningrad communal apartment for several dozen people. However, the thought that they were living poorly did not even arise - all the neighbors lived like that. Tatyana recalled how her parents tried to please her and her sister to the best of their ability, getting simple delicacies, like the girl’s favorite butter.
With older sister Alla
Tatyana Vasilyeva no longer remembers where the desire to become an actress came from. Perhaps it was passed down from my mother, who in her youth played in an amateur theater, was a Komsomol activist and a very liberated person, unlike her always uptight and notorious daughter. Her parents didn’t take her to the theater, but the girl often went to film shows, and when her roommate got a rare piece of equipment - a TV - she could sit for hours in front of the screen.

Studying at school was difficult, largely due to the panic that gripped the girl as soon as the teacher called her last name. Later she developed her favorite subjects – literature and foreign languages. Acting gave Tatiana the opportunity to escape from her real self. In high school, she enrolled in various thematic circles located in different parts of the city: literary, literary circle, movement.
After school, Tatyana applied to the Moscow Art Theater School and became a student in the course of Evgenia Mores, Vladimir Bogomolov and Vasily Markov. For a long time, her parents did not take her passion for acting seriously, and after her first year, her father even personally talked with the rector and tried to convince him that Tatyana would not make an actress, that it would be better for her to master a sewing machine or another “grain” profession, like a dental technician.
Personal life
Tatyana met her first husband, Anatoly Vasiliev, while studying at the Moscow Art Theater School. The young handsome man immediately won the heart of a young girl, she followed on his heels, kept watch in the hostel, did not pay attention to his numerous affairs with other girls, but Tolya simply did not notice the inconspicuous short-haired girl. So, in one interview, Tatyana Vasilyeva once admitted that she understood the difference between them, but she loved and waited for him. And yet she waited, in 1973 they got married. And in 1978, Tatyana gave birth to a son, Philip. The couple lived together for 10 years, but due to constant domestic conflicts they broke up.
Tatiana Vasilyeva and Anatoly Vasiliev
In 1980, Tatyana Vasilyeva played in the play “The Wood Grouse’s Nest,” her partner on the set was Georgy Martirosyan. They were spouses on stage and gradually, over time, their relationship moved into real life. Martirosyan, having fallen in love with Tatyana Vasilyeva, immediately invited her to marry, although at that time he himself had a family in Rostov - a wife and child. In 1983, Tatyana divorced her husband and married Georgy Martirosyan. In 1986, the couple had a daughter, Lisa.

But their marriage soon broke up. The couple went through difficult times, they lived only on Vasilyeva’s salary, and after her dismissal, on money from renting an apartment. Gradually, the financial situation of the spouses improved, but they did not save their relationship, and divorced in 1995. Tatiana's relatives claim that the reason for the divorce was that Georgy was never able to accept Vasilyeva's son Philip as his own.
After the divorce, Tatyana Vasilyeva was credited with many novels, both with the artist Nikas Safronov and with her best friend Stanislav Sadalsky. But the actress only had feelings of love for her children and grandchildren.
The son of Tatyana Vasilyeva, having received a law degree, decided to follow in the footsteps of his parents and became an actor. Daughter Lisa is a journalist by training, she is a very creative person and tries herself in different fields (she worked as an organizer of holidays, starred in the films “Mistress of the Taiga”, “Blue Nights”, and was a clothing designer).

Philip and Lisa gave Tatyana Vasilyeva 4 grandchildren. Lisa gave birth to her son Adam in 2011. In the family of Philip and his first wife Anastasia Begunova, two boys were born, Ivan (2008) and Grigory (2010). Now Philip is married to actress Maria Bolonkina, who in 2016 gave birth to his daughter Mirra.
Hobbies
The actress was married 2 times. She met her first husband, actor A. Vasiliev, at the beginning of her acting career. In 1983, she divorced her husband and married actor G. Martirosyan. In her first marriage she gave birth to a son, Philip, and in her second, a daughter, Lisa. Today Tatyana Vasilyeva has 4 grandchildren.
Despite her status as a grandmother, the actress maintains attractive features and looks modern. The artist takes care of her appearance and leads a healthy lifestyle. Recently, she surprised everyone with a radical change in her image by getting a short haircut. She maintains an account on the social network Instagram, sharing photos and videos from her personal life.
Personal life of Vasilyeva
The actress was married twice. The first wedding took place with Anatoly Vasiliev , who is now famous for the series “Matchmakers”. The desire to end the relationship came from him. There were attempts on the part of the actress to revive the family for the sake of her son, but Tatyana did not find a response. They don’t communicate with Anatoly.
In his second marriage to Georgy Martirosyan, a daughter was born. The relationship did not deteriorate after the divorce, they still communicate. Not to say that my personal life was a success.
Tatyana is an excellent housewife, a caring grandmother to her grandchildren. If they come, be sure to go shopping, cook, clean, put away, because children need cleanliness!
The main thing is that Vasilyeva knows when to stop plastic surgery and did not allow herself to be disfigured. She manages to keep her face and body in a toned and beautiful condition for many years.

Scandals
In 2015, Tatyana's relationship with her grandchildren was under threat. Her ex-daughter-in-law Anastasia fled abroad to her new lover along with her children, did not allow her family to see them, demanding 200 thousand rubles for each meeting. The court ordered Philip to pay 15% of his income as alimony, while Anastasia allowed her ex-husband and mother-in-law to see the boys freely. Anastasia Begunova (left) took Tatyana Vasilyeva’s grandchildren to Germany. In 2022, events continued. It turns out that for three years, Anastasia, despite the court’s decision, did not allow her sons to see their grandmother. To get the opportunity to see Vanya and Grisha for the first time in two years, the actress bought both grandchildren a one-room apartment in Moscow - this was Anastasia’s condition. In November 2022, the actress had her head pinched in the doors of a subway car. According to Tatyana, the warning “be careful, the doors are closing” was not heard from the speakers, contrary to usual. The actress felt unwell and went for examination. An MRI and CT scan showed no serious injuries.
Tatyana Vasilyeva now
Now the actress continues to appear in various television projects dedicated to her work and personal life. In 2022, she appeared in the studio of Boris Korchevnikov’s program “The Fate of a Man” and the “Exclusive” project. The story of the proceedings with the daughter-in-law was continued in the next episode of the “Actually” program. In February 2019, the artist talked with Lera Kudryavtseva on the talk show “Secret for a Million”.
Social activity
For about two decades, the artist was listed as the secretary of the Union of Theater Workers of Russia. As chairman of the social and welfare commission, she paid a lot of attention to supporting colleagues who found themselves in difficult financial situations.
The actress’s kind heart also cares about homeless animals. Vasilyeva helped our little brothers not only in word, but also in deed. The celebrity’s apartment lives with the cat Filimon, whom Vera Kuzminichna picked up on the street.
Theater works
In 1969, Tatyana Itsykovich became a certified actress and joined the Moscow Satire Theater. While she was performing with the troupe on her first tour, her father passed away. Mom lived in Leningrad for some time, then moved to her daughter in Moscow.
Tatyana’s debut on the professional stage was the production “Captive of Time” (1969), in which the 22-year-old girl played the role of a commissar. The Pravda newspaper criticized the work to the nines, calling it “the theater’s biggest failure.” It was obvious that the authorities did not like her Jewish surname; she was hounded in reviews and was forbidden to give her roles.
At the Satire Theater, Tatyana met her colleague Anatoly Vasiliev, whom she already knew from the Moscow Art Theater School. In 1973 they got married, Tatyana took her husband's last name, which remained with her after the divorce in 1983. Read more about the private life of the actress below, in the “Personal Life” section.
The change of surname had a positive impact on Tatyana Grigorievna’s career. By 1978, when the first-born Philip was born, Tatyana was already the prima of the theater. Behind her were the roles of the princess in “An Ordinary Miracle”, Marya Antonovna in “The Inspector General”, Sophia in “Woe from Wit”, where Andrei Mironov, Alexander Shirvindt and Anatoly Papanov became her partners, and many other outstanding works.
In 1983, the actress left the Satire Theater due to a conflict with the management, which refused to accept her second husband, actor Georgy Martirosyan, into the troupe. After that, she joined the actors of the Theater. Mayakovsky - she met artistic director Andrei Goncharov on the street and bluntly asked if his theater needed good actresses. At that time, the prima of the Theater named after. Mayakovsky, Natalya Gundareva and Tatyana Doronina, were in an acute conflict, and Goncharov, intending to “scare” them with the appearance of a competitor, gave all the leading roles to Tatyana. Soon the actress had her first home of her own - a spacious apartment in Moscow.
In the new place, Vasilyeva was busy in the productions “Running” (Lyuska), “Long Live the Queen, Vivat!” (Queen Elizabeth), “Circle” (Kitty), “Tomorrow there was a war” (Polyakova), etc.
In 1992, the actress was fired with the wording “for violation of labor discipline.” Four years later, her new place of work was the School of Contemporary Play, where Vasilyeva came at the invitation of artistic director Joseph Raikhelgauz. She appeared on stage as Anita (“Antigone from New York”), Dulcinea (“Greetings, Don Quixote”), Arkadina (“The Seagull”), Natalya Ivanovna (“Russian Jam”).
How did the actress's theatrical career develop?
After completing her studies in 1969, Tanya got a job in the troupe of the Moscow Satire Theater. Her stage colleagues were such famous actors as Anatoly Papanov, Andrei Mironov, Tatyana Peltzer, Olga Aroseva, Spartak Mishulin, etc. For a long time, the young actress felt insecure next to “the greats of this world.” According to her, the “old people” existed separately from the young cast and it was impossible to please them.
When Tatyana began an affair with the main director Valentin Pluchek (the age difference between them was 38 years), her career took off sharply. Pluchek not only provided Itsykovich with the main roles, but also took up her general development: he gave lectures on the history of culture (and forced them to take notes), took them to all the exhibitions. In 1973, the actress married her former classmate Anatoly Vasilyev (who also worked in this theater), but the relationship between her and Valentin Nikolaevich did not end.

Tatyana took her husband's last name and has not changed it since then. She served at the Satire Theater for about 14 years and was forced to leave after she divorced Vasiliev and married actor Georgy Martirosyan, who had recently joined their theater. Pluchek, who accepted her first marriage, could not come to terms with the second (although he himself had been married a long time ago and never intended to divorce his wife). According to Vasilyeva, scenes of jealousy began and she and Martirosyan left the theater.

In 1983, she moved to the Mayakovsky Theater, where over the course of 9 years she performed many significant roles. And then she was fired for “violation of labor discipline.” It happened like this: Vasilyeva was invited to St. Petersburg to present an award for the best actress in the play “In the same place, then” (it was an enterprise staged at the Anton Chekhov Theater). She asked the management to postpone the performance with her participation, scheduled for that day, but the actress was refused. Tatyana left anyway, and the next day she received a call from the HR department and was informed that she had been fired.
Since 1996, Vasilyeva served for 3 years at the Moscow School of Modern Play theater, and in the early 2000s she found herself in a new capacity: she began working as a presenter (and co-host) on television on Channel One. The television projects “Between Us, Girls”, “It’s Your Business...”, “Fashionable Sentence”, “Woman’s Revolt” were very popular among television viewers.

Currently, Tatyana is one of the leading actresses of the Moscow Millennium Theater. Among her stage partners are Leonid Yakubovich, Stanislav Sadalsky, Elena Safonova, Olga Volkova, ex-husband Anatoly Vasiliev, Marat Basharov, Elena Vorobey, etc. She has a very busy work schedule and, as 72-year-old Vasilyeva says: “I live on the edge and I like it” (in my opinion, this is worthy of respect).

Work in theater and TV shows
After finishing her studies at the Moscow Art Theater School, Tatyana became part of the Satire Theater troupe. She worked there for 14 years, playing in a lot of performances. Subsequently, it was decided to remake them into films. The most famous were the productions “The Inspector General” and “Woe from Wit” with T. Vasilyeva.
For the next 9 years, the actress worked at the Academic Theater. V. Mayakovsky. In 1996 she became part of the troupe of the School of Modern Play theater.
In the 2000s, she was a presenter on Channel One.
In 2012, she could be seen in the program “Between Us, Girls,” the presenter raised issues of everyday and social problems of the world, considering them from a female point of view. In 2014, a new TV project was released, where the actress discussed exciting issues with TV viewers in the same format.
Movies
Vera Kuzminichna’s filmography began to expand during her student years with an episode in the comedy “Twins.” And soon the artist woke up famous after participating in the film “The Tale of the Siberian Land.” According to rumors, when Joseph Stalin saw Vasilyeva on the screen, he was moved and ordered an award. One way or another, in 1948, the performer became a laureate of the Stalin Prize, 1st degree, in the amount of 100 thousand rubles.
In an interview, the star shared that she carefully prepared before filming - she put on makeup and curls. But when he saw the smart student, Ivan Pyryev asked his assistants to comb and wash the candidate for the role of Nastya Gusenkova. To complete the look, the director placed rolled stockings under Vasilyeva's dress, adding curves to the chest area.
In terms of the brightness and volume of reciprocal love from the audience, we can compare with “The Tale” the film “Dowry Wedding”, which became a film adaptation of the play of the same name, for her participation in which Vasilyeva was awarded the Stalin Prize of the 3rd degree (25 thousand rubles). The musical comedy also affected the actress’s personal life, giving her the opportunity to meet her future husband.
Among the artist’s memorable roles is the mother of the key character in the series “The Investigation is Conducted by Experts,” Margarita Nikolaevna Znamenskaya. In the image familiar to fans of the detective epic, Vasilyeva appeared in both the 1970s and 2000s.

Film career
In 1972, Tatyana appeared in films for the first time (except for her participation in the films-plays “The Convent” and “Fleet Officer”). This was the role of teacher Vera in the children's adventure film “Take a Look at That Face.”
From then on, a tall, awkward girl with a deep voice began to look for her place in cinema, and this process lasted for a long time. In the 70s, Tatyana Vasilyeva’s only notable work was the role of Annie in the television comedy “Hello, I’m Your Aunt” (1975). But this was not the role that would write a ticket to a big movie.
In 1979, the actress got the main role in the film “Duenna”, where Irina Muravyova was also busy. Then there was the role of Iraida Grebeshkova in the comedy “Good People” (1979), the prosecutor in the comedy “Adam Marries Eve” (1980), and the secretary Eleanor in the comedy “Evening Labyrinth” (1980).
His fame was cemented by the comedy “The Most Charming and Attractive,” which was released in 1985. The actress played the role of Susanna, a former classmate of engineer Nadya Klyueva (Irina Muravyova), who volunteered to teach her friend scientific methods of seduction and give advice on seducing the handsome Volodya Smirnov (Alexander Abdulov).
Initially, Lyubov Polishchuk was invited to play the role of Susanna, then she was offered to Inna Churikova. Both actresses refused, and the role went to Vasilyeva, which none of the film’s creators regretted. Her heroine fell in love with the audience, and her remarks were scattered into quotes: “Your long, trembling fingers speak of a subtle mental organization,” “Don’t be born beautiful, be born active!” Or rather, become active and find yourself a husband.”
After the collapse of the USSR, Tatyana did not drop out of acting life and continued to act in films. For example, in 1992, she presented a brilliant tandem with Dmitry Malikov in the drama “See Paris and Die,” where she played Elena Orekhova, the mother of a brilliant pianist who has experienced a lot, trying with all her efforts to send her son to a music competition in France. This work brought Tatyana the Nika Award and the Kinotavr Film Festival award for Best Actress.
However, during this period she could be seen in cooperative comedies, which many viewers defined as “low-grade”: “Womanizer 2”, “I Want to Go to America”, “Brilliant Idea”, “Groom from Miami”.
Today, the actress has more than a hundred film roles under her belt. Recently, she can often be seen in the TV series: “Gentleman of Private Investigation Ivan Podushkin”, “Matchmakers”, “Zemsky Doctor”. On the set of the latter, Vasilyeva got used to the role of the provincial librarian Veronica, the best friend of the heroine Irina Kupchenko.
The actress gained popularity among young people in 2011, playing the role of deputy director Galina Smirnova in the mystical series “Closed School.” The stars of the series were young actors: Pavel Priluchny, Agata Muceniece, Alexey Koryakov, Tatyana Kosmacheva and others.
Film career
Tatyana’s debut in cinema took place in 1972 in the children’s adventure film “Take a Look at This Face.” She played a small role as a teacher, but was not remembered by television viewers. Vasilyeva was noticed a few years later in the musical comedy directed by Viktor Titov “Hello, I’m your aunt!” (1975), where the actress also played a small but bright role of Annie (the leading roles here were played by Alexander Kalyagin, Armen Dzhigarkhanyan, Mikhail Kozakov, Oleg Shklovsky and Mikhail Lyubeznov).
Tatyana Vasilyeva (Annie) “Hello, I’m your aunt!” 1975
In 1978, she played her first leading role as the duenna Dorothea in the comedy “Duenna” directed by Mikhail Grigoriev, which was a great success. And all-Union fame came to the actress after the role of psychologist Susanna in Gerald Bezhanov’s comedy “The Most Charming and Attractive” (1985)
Evgeny Leonov and Tatyana Vasilyeva. “Duenna” 1978
Inna Churikova and Lyubov Polishchuk auditioned for this role, but the director preferred Vasilyeva, which, according to him, he later regretted more than once. Tatyana (like Alexander Abdulov) could afford to come to the set without learning the text. And when, without warning, Vasilyeva changed her hair color from blonde to red (it turned out that in the same scene her hair was of different colors), Bezhanov ended up in a hospital bed with a micro-infarction. Tatyana categorically refused to return her previous hair color, so in the future she was photographed wearing a cap.
Tatiana Vasilyeva (Susanna). “The most charming and attractive” 1985
The only actress who did not cause any problems for the director was Irina Muravyova, although he had to seek her consent to participate in the filming for six months. Unlike other celebrities who starred in the film, Muravyova strictly followed all of Bezhanov’s instructions and did not try to tell him “how it would be better.”
The film became the box office leader in 1985, and for Vasilyeva, the role of Susanna was the most successful of her many film works. After the collapse of Soviet cinema, Tatyana remained a sought-after actress and it is not her fault that the quality of most of the films produced leaves much to be desired.
Among Vasilyeva’s most successful works, published in the late 80s and 90s, are “The Binder and the King” (daughter of the Jew Mendel), “The Ladies’ Tailor” (the tailor’s daughter), “See Paris and Die” (Elena, the mother of the talented pianist played by singer and composer Dmitry Malikov). Tatyana also starred in TV series (where would we be without them) such as “Ivan Podushkin. Gentleman of Detectives-1 and 2”, “Zemstvo Doctor”, “Matchmakers”, etc.
Tatiana Vasilyeva and Roman Kartsev. “The Bandit and the King” 1989
At the moment, the actress’s latest work in cinema is the psychological thriller “Pilgrim” (2018), in which Vasilyeva played the role of a psychotherapist. The film was released in wide release at the beginning of 2019 and did not make much of an impression on TV viewers.
Bright roles
The artist began acting in films almost immediately. The debut film was “Take a Look at This Face.”
“The Right to Jump”, “Hello, I’m Your Aunt”, “Duenna”, “The Convent” - these and other films became the starting point for the actress’s fame. Working with such masters of cinema as Vladimir Zeldin, Alexander Kalyagin, Valentin Gaft, Vladimir Vysotsky helped Tatyana Grigorievna gain experience. At the same time, she did not get lost among the star names.

The peak of the actress's popularity came in the eighties. Especially after the release of “The Most Charming and Attractive”.
And filming in the film “See Paris and Die” in the nineties brought Tatyana the title of People’s Artist.
In the 2000s, the actress began to appear frequently in TV series (“My Love,” “Ivan Podushkin. Gentleman of Detectives,” “Closed School,” “Olga,” etc.). As for films, the viewer especially remembered the main character’s mother, Aunt Beata, in “The Three Half-Graces.” And also a scandalous producer in the drama “Pops”.

As a presenter, the actress took part in the show “Girls”. She was actively involved in dubbing foreign films and cartoons.
TV presenter
In June 2012, Tatyana Vasilyeva became the co-host of the show “Between Us, Girls,” which aired on Channel One. The creators of the show characterized it as a psychological program about relationships between the sexes. The filming took place in a cafe where seven presenter friends met, and every episode a celebrity dropped in for a cup of coffee. Together with Vasilyeva, Dmitry Orlov, Alexander Nosik, Tatyana Bulanova, Yulia Kuvarzina, Yana Laputina worked on the program. Due to low ratings, the show lasted only two months on screens.
In 2014, the actress was again invited to Channel One to host the show “Your Business...”, which was hosted at different times by Natalya Varley, Raisa Ryazanova, Olga Naumenko and Tatyana Semina. Ordinary people came to the studio and told their complicated family stories, after which they were helped to understand this tangle of contradictions.
In 2022, Vasilyeva replaced Nadezhda Babkina as co-host of the “Fashionable Sentence” program, popular among Russian viewers, keeping company with fashion historian Alexander Vasiliev.
