What is the advantage of the technique

Bright and juicy dyes will give you the effect of applying lipstick

By doing permanent lip makeup, you will make your life much simpler and easier, since you will not need to look for a mirror and lipstick every time after every cup of coffee you drink. Your lips will always look perfect - while eating, in the office and even at night! How much time will be saved in the morning before leaving the house?

In addition to the above advantages, this procedure allows you to:

  • add volume to naturally thin lips;
  • visually lift the drooping corners of the mouth;
  • add brightness to pale lips.

As for the choice of color palette of coloring pigments, it is quite wide. Light, almost imperceptible pigments can visually increase or, conversely, reduce the volume of the lips, making their contour as clear as possible. The pale color of the surface of the skin of the lips will effectively eliminate the pigment, which will be 1-2 shades darker than their natural shade. Bright and rich dyes will give you the effect of applying lipstick.

With:

  • The client’s age – the older, the longer the effect will last. The reason for this is the slowing of metabolism with age.
  • Paint color. The durability of the tattoo depends on the intensity of the shade. Thus, light colors are less durable than bright ones.
  • Skin type. With dry skin, the pattern lasts longer than with oily skin.
  • External factors. Exposure to the sun, regular peelings, and the use of aggressive cosmetics help wash out the dye.

Types of procedure

To obtain the desired result, choose a certain type of permanent lip makeup, which differs not only in the color palette, but also in the volume of its implementation.

  1. Stroke along the contour makes it possible to eliminate their natural blurriness, providing the effect of using a contour pencil. To make it look as natural as possible, pigments with a color range close to natural are used. This type of makeup is performed in cases where there are no other defects requiring correction. As a rule, contouring is combined with a shading procedure.
  2. A contour with shading that gradually turns into the natural color of the skin of the lips allows you to outline all lines with brighter pigments that harmoniously combine with the natural shade. Such shading can be partial (performed by 1/3 or half) or complete. With its help, the shape of the lips is corrected, giving their surface a bright color saturation. This type of procedure is not recommended for those with thin lips, as it can visually reduce their volume even further. In this case, the 3D procedure is indicated.
  3. Permanent 3D technology refers to a professional type of makeup and is performed using several color combinations that promote the play of light and shadow. This technique allows you to perform the correct placement of highlights, achieving complex transitions between selected shades to give your lips relief and the necessary volume. Sometimes this type of makeup uses coloring of both the lip border and lightening the tone of the surrounding skin, which enhances contrast, volume, and makes the face fresh and rejuvenated. The color palette of this type of permanent is quite diverse. It includes natural, translucent tones and bright, rich shades similar to the color of lipstick. Makeup artists have pigments at their disposal that provide the visual effect of lip gloss.
  4. Complete shading of the lips is performed by applying a special pigment dye to their skin surface. This technique makes it possible to radically change their shade with a visual increase in volume.
  5. The technique of performing light kayapa provides the opportunity to visually increase the volume of the upper or lower lip. For this purpose, a line is drawn above/under the lip with a light coloring pigment. The result will be a gorgeous smile with contour relief.

Tips for lip care after permanent lip makeup

  • Swelling, bleeding and some redness are normal the day after the procedure for some clients. The color will change during the first 3-4 days. After three weeks, contact your specialist if you feel the treatment area needs to be touched up.
  • If you suspect an infection in or around the procedure area, please contact your healthcare provider immediately!
  • Use ice packs for 10-15 minutes every hour for the first 4-8 hours after the procedure. Ice is used to reduce swelling and provide comfort. After the first 24 hours, using ice is no longer beneficial. Old wives' tale: Refrigerated used tea bags are also good for preventing swelling.
  • No soap or shampoo on the treated area for 7 days. Soaps and detergents are designed to remove any foreign matter. This is obviously detrimental to the bonding process needed to make the pigment permanent. Toothpaste and mouthwash are considered “soap” and will remove lip color, so proceed with caution when using.
  • All cleansing should be done with a clean cotton swab soaked in cool water and gently applied to the area to be treated. Do not rub this area under any circumstances.
  • Apply ointment to the treatment area for the first 24 hours. Then apply vitamin E oil or liquid for the rest of the week. Apply to the treatment area with a cotton tip several times a day (do not use mineral oil or petroleum products such as petroleum jelly.) This should be done in a gentle blotting motion so as not to disturb the pigmentation binding process. This will keep the area moist and speed up healing. Don't let the area dry out, keep it moist at all times . Check your lips every thirty (30) minutes and reapply ointment as needed. Do not press or rub when applying ointment. Apply an additional heavy layer of ointment to the treated area before going to bed, bathing, washing adjacent areas, and immediately upon rising in the morning.
  • Baths and showers are allowed, but do not wash, scrub or touch the treatment area. Hot, steamy baths and showers should be completely avoided. After two weeks, you can resume all your regular activities.
  • When brushing your teeth for the first three 3 days, apply a generous amount of ointment to your lips before brushing and use a minimal amount of toothpaste.
  • For the first two days, use a straw when drinking liquids; Avoid sandwiches by biting into fruit or foods that may cause friction to your lips.
  • You need to minimize sun exposure for at least two weeks. I do not recommend swimming in fresh, salt or chlorinated pool water.
  • Extra care should be taken while the treated area is healing. Under no circumstances should you choose to scratch or rub the treated area or attempt to remove the scab. Removing the scabs may remove the actual pigment and/or infection may occur. It is important that this protective “cover” remains throughout the healing process (three to six days).

What to do before the procedure

Before starting permanent lip makeup, it is mandatory to carry out preventive measures to prevent the appearance of herpes. More than 90% of the world's population are carriers of herpes infection. Its insidiousness lies in the possibility of frequent relapses, and this technique can become a provoking factor, since it is associated with many microscopic punctures of the skin surface of the lips and, as a result, with strong mechanical irritation. Herpes blisters can affect the final result of the procedure, so it is recommended to take antiviral drugs (Famvir, Valtrex, Zovirax) a few days before visiting a makeup artist.

When planning the date for permanent makeup, take into account the possibility of staying at home for the next 2 days after the procedure. When conducting a preliminary consultation, it is recommended to take your favorite lipstick and other lip cosmetics with you in order to clearly demonstrate to the specialist the desired color and effectiveness.

How to choose a color?

It's best to use a "light shade" for a subtle, plump effect—as people say about the perfect lipstick, it should be like your lips, but better.

However, this doesn't mean you should go for a subtle shade unless you feel that's what you want to get out of the procedure. Each shade is customizable to suit your lip color and what you want.

Colors are divided into three main groups: * warm: peach, orange and coral shades; * cold: pink shades; * neutral: beige, brown and terracotta shades. Shades come in light, medium and dark saturation levels.

When choosing a color, several factors should be taken into account: * eye color; * color of the skin; * hair color; * teeth color; * lip size; * age; * time of day and lighting.

The first three characteristics determine your color type.

How does the session work?

Initially, the specialist performing the procedure must clean the surface of the lips from dirt and makeup residues.

Next, based on the client’s individual wishes, the master draws a preliminary sketch using special markers. The session begins only after the client has approved the sketch.

Pain relief can be performed by application (using creams and gels with anesthetics) or injection (injection of special drugs under the skin) method. If the patient's pain threshold is high, the procedure can be performed without the use of anesthesia.

The duration of the session can be either 30 minutes or 3 hours, as it depends on the existing defects and the desired results. In some cases (for some types of 3D makeup), the procedure is divided into several sessions.

Unsuccessful result

If the makeup is disappointing, and it is important for you to know how long it will take for permanent makeup to come off, they resort to the chemical method. The method is suitable if the paint is not injected deeply. A concentrate is used that is injected under the skin. As a result of the reaction of the solution and the pigment, the latter is removed and comes off along with the crust.

To ensure that the effect of permanent makeup lasts for a long time, you should contact trusted specialists who strictly follow the application technology and use high-quality dyes.

Post-procedure care methods

The day after the session, the skin surface of the lips will become wet, so you should carefully apply a napkin to it

The standard healing period after permanent lip makeup lasts from 3 days to a week. Swelling of the skin lasts no more than 2 days. In the first few days, this makeup will seem too bright, but over time it will become natural.

The day after the session, the skin surface of the lips will become wet, so you should carefully apply a napkin soaked in a solution of chlorhexidine or miramistin, sold in pharmacies.

In the following days, a thin crust will appear on the lips, hiding the color of the permanent. It is a natural “bandage” that performs a protective function for rapid healing of the skin. It cannot be peeled off and soaked! Such crusts will fall off on their own in due time and without your participation.

In case of excessive dryness of the skin of the lips, it is allowed to apply a thin layer of Bepanten Plus cream.

If possible, try to wet your lips less, do not drink too hot drinks, and drink cold drinks with a straw.

The use of cosmetics is allowed immediately after the crusts fall off.

The first week after the procedure is the most important, as it involves careful care, as well as protection from wind and frost.

In the summer, for 3 weeks after the session, before going outside, you should always cover your lips with lipstick with an SPF sun protection factor greater than 20.

In the first 2 weeks after the procedure, it is forbidden to visit the sauna, swim in ponds and pools, or sunbathe in open sunlight.

A month after the session, the surface of the lips will acquire the appropriate brightness. During this period, you can objectively evaluate the results obtained and, if necessary, make corrections.

Care for permanent lip makeup

Maintenance procedures are as important to preserving the pigment as the implantation process itself. During this period, the main task is to allow the process to be sealed within the dermis. Your compliance will ensure that you receive maximum benefit from the procedure and reduce inconvenient follow-up visits.

Evaluation of your results should be delayed until three weeks to one month after the final procedure. Immediately after the procedure, your lips may feel rough and stained, but they will soften and look more natural as they heal.

Again, the intensity of the treatment is most noticeable after the treatment itself.

Over the next 3-7 days, the outer layer of color will appear crispy and begin to flake off. Extra care should be taken while the treated area is healing. Under no circumstances should you choose to scratch or rub the treated area or attempt to remove the scab. Removing the scabs may remove the actual pigment and/or infection may occur. It is important that this protective “cover” remains throughout the entire healing process (three to seven days). As the outer layer peels off, you will notice that the color is lighter and softer. Over the next two weeks, the color that was implanted under the skin will move forward.

Most Frequently Asked Questions

For those who have not yet decided on such a procedure, we offer answers to the most frequently asked questions.

  • Is it possible to undergo a permanent makeup session if herpes often appears on the surface of the skin of the lips?

Only a month after undergoing antiviral therapy and the absence of relapses of herpes can a similar procedure be carried out.

  • If you have a trip to a resort, is it worth doing permanent lip makeup?

Plan the procedure so that there are at least 3 weeks left before traveling to vacation destinations.

  • What is most effective - permanent or filler?

It all depends on what result you want to get. If your lips need a little volume correction, then permanent makeup is best. In cases where the lips are too small and thin, it is preferable to use fillers.

  • How long will this makeup last?

On average, the effect of the procedure lasts for 2 years.

How long does lip tattoo last?

Due to differences in parameters, the answer to how long a tattoo lasts is different for everyone. For some, choosing a simple technique, the effect will last 1.5 years. When choosing complex methods in which the pigment was injected deep under the skin, the shelf life of permanent makeup increases to 5 years.

If you make corrections, you can always maintain the stability of the result. The first correction is carried out after the recovery period – a month later. The client controls subsequent sessions himself. She can prescribe them once a year, or she can wait until the tattoo loses its color completely.

What will the tattoo look like after a few years?

Any lip tattoo after several years requires refreshment and correction, even if the specialist’s recommendations were followed and proper care was provided. This cannot be avoided, since the pigment is gradually forced out of the body and fades in the sun. Under the influence of ultraviolet light it will turn pale and change shade. A few years after the main procedure, the contours will blur, the lips will be partially painted over, which will spoil the appearance. You will have to renew or remove makeup with permanent makeup.

Knowing how long the permanent lasts is very important if you decide to undergo this procedure. It is also important to choose a specialist and a salon that will help you avoid unpleasant consequences, infection, inflammation, and unsuccessful tattooing.
