Eyebrow microblading - Everything you need to know about the procedure

Not all girls naturally have bright and symmetrical eyebrows, which makes them experience an inferiority complex and try to disguise the problem with an extra layer of decorative cosmetics. Thanks to microblading, you can create an impeccable shape and maintain rich color for several months – years. Hardware cosmetology methods help you choose the perfect look, and eyebrow tattooing is no exception.

Microblading (translated from English as “thin blade”) is manual micropigmentation of eyebrows to clearly highlight the line of natural hair growth. Using a special scalpel, a viscous pigment is injected into the skin to a depth of 3 mm, which draws small hairs and imitates their natural growth . This technique first appeared in China about 10 years ago. Later it was used by European makeup artists and gained popularity in Russia.

When shaping eyebrows, the color of the pigment is selected individually, and the technology itself is carried out manually. The master fills each hair individually, forms and corrects a symmetrical line. Thanks to this biotechnology, you can change the shape, color and thickness of your eyebrows and transform your look.

Advantages and disadvantages

The main advantage of microblading is naturalness. Unlike tattooing, skin incisions are made manually and not under the influence of electricity. Pigments for microblading do not contain alcohol, and the main components are glycerin and water molecules, a mixture of dyes. After the procedure and healing, eyebrows look thick and natural.

The main advantages of the technique being studied:

  • painless, short procedure;
  • minimal skin trauma;
  • wide range of shades;
  • use of local anesthesia;
  • fast recovery period;
  • no severe swelling or other side effects;
  • pigment as close as possible to the natural shade;
  • saving money on decorative cosmetics;
  • no age restrictions for the session.

In the absence of medical contraindications, eyebrow microblading can be performed by anyone. This technique differs from tattooing in the depth of pigment introduction - only the epidermis is incised, the deeper layers of the skin are not disturbed. Main disadvantages:

  • aesthetic effect – 2 years, after which you need to “refresh” the shade;
  • presence of contraindications;
  • care for quick recovery;
  • the difficulty of finding a good professional cosmetologist;
  • need for correction;
  • high price.

Result: before and after the procedure
The result is noticeable after the session, but the final version is visible only after the skin has been restored - after approximately 1 month, depending on the healing ability of your body.

Microblading: introductory information

The procedure refers to eyebrow color correction. It resembles a tattoo, but coloring pigments are introduced through a special manipulator. Outwardly, it looks vaguely like an ordinary ballpoint pen. The technician makes small incisions on the skin into which paint is injected.

Note!
The name of the procedure consists of two English words micro and blade.
Literal translation: small blade. Despite the fact that incisions are made on the skin, the procedure is not as painful as a common tattoo. However, the latter gives a longer lasting effect.

Instructions for preparing for the procedure

When preparing for the procedure, it is desirable to improve local blood flow in the frontal area. General recommendations:

  • 2 weeks before the session, do not pluck your eyebrows with tweezers or dye them.
  • Stop taking vasoconstrictors and blood thinners 7 days before.
  • Do not visit the sauna or solarium for a week;
  • Give up bad habits (cigarettes, alcohol) within 3 days;
  • Go on a diet in a day, give up soda, energy drinks, coffee, strong tea.

If the day of the session coincides with the period of menstruation, it is advisable to wait a few days for the external transformation. If there are wounds, burns and abrasions on the skin of the forehead area, you should wait until the soft tissues are completely regenerated.

Microblading technique

In modern cosmetology, there are 2 eyebrow microblading techniques:

  • Voloskovaya. After the procedure, the eyebrows appear thicker and the shade more saturated. The effect lasts up to 2 years. The session is painful, and rehabilitation takes longer than with the shadow technique.
  • Shadow. The main effect is additional volume and thickness. The pigment penetrates shallowly into the skin and provides for the drawing of light shadows. The effect lasts up to 8 months. The procedure is less painful and traumatic and has a short rehabilitation period.

The choice depends on the result - the saturation and durability of the shade. The first step is to determine the color. General recommendations from cosmetologists:

  • For blondes, wheat, ash, light brown and other similar shades are recommended.
  • A dark brown or rich copper shade looks good on brown-haired women.
  • Dark tones are suitable for brunettes, in particular black with a bluish tint.

Microblading is carried out in 4 stages. The client takes a comfortable position in a special chair or on a couch. The cosmetologist wears gloves and uses only sterile instruments. Sequence of actions of the wizard:

  1. Makes a sketch with a ruler, pencil and a special compass.
  2. Plucks out excess hairs that extend beyond the chosen shape.
  3. Apply a topical antiseptic such as Chlorhexidine.
  4. Distributes anesthetic cream, waits 15-20 minutes for it to take effect.
  5. Makes incisions and precisely introduces pigment to a depth of 3 mm.
  6. Rubs the remaining paint into the eyebrows with microbrushes.
  7. Removes pigment residues.
  8. Disinfects swollen eyebrows, applies healing cream or Vaseline.

The duration of the session is from 45 to 90 minutes, depending on the professionalism of the cosmetologist. If you have a previous tattoo, microblading is performed when the eyebrows are narrow in shape and have pale and faded pigment. Otherwise, the previous paint from the deep layers will have to be first removed with a laser or revumer.

How to do eyebrow microblading

The microblading procedure is done by a master manually, which allows you to adjust the length and width of the strokes, their direction and degree of bending during the process. This requires a competent professional who knows the nuances of the procedure.

Manual application method

Therefore, it is so important to know the sequence of actions performed in order to be able to fully control the ongoing process. The final result depends on the level of professionalism of the specialist and experience in the technique performed.

The work progress should have the following stages:

  1. Clarification of individual contraindications that prevent the procedure from being performed;
  2. Before performing the procedure, the specialist must familiarize himself with the client’s personal wishes regarding the final result;
  3. Drawing the future shape with a cosmetic pencil, necessary for the client’s visual representation of how the eyebrows will look after the intervention;
  4. Removing excess hairs extending beyond the edges of the border;
  5. Treatment of the eyebrow area with a disinfectant solution, creating a protective basis against harmful microorganisms;
  6. Carrying out anesthetic actions to eliminate unpleasant pain;
  7. Injecting the coloring pigment under the skin - for this purpose, a specific instrument is prepared, resembling a pen, the base of which consists of a number of ultra-thin needles. In the process of introducing pigment, the master freely regulates the pressure, achieving an even contour and harmoniously distributed color.

How long does the procedure take?

The procedure itself takes about two hours, but the result is beautiful, neat eyebrows that will delight the owner for a very long time. To achieve maximum effectiveness, it is important to repeat the procedure several more times until the color is fully set.

Types of equipment used

  • European - characterized by the application of strokes of the same length and color shade, keeping the direction in the same direction. The result will be eyebrows that are striking in their thickness and volume;

It is important to know! If the technique is performed correctly, the hairs will acquire a rich, bright shade, which, however, will be far from natural.

  • Eastern - characterized by a combination of strokes of different sizes, widths and degrees of brightness, resulting in the appearance of natural eyebrows. The different directions of the lines, arranged in a chaotic order, allow you to create the illusion of a completely filled space.

Note! The advantages of this technique are visible to the naked eye, but there are some disadvantages: increased complexity of implementation, painstaking work, and a large amount of time spent.

Does microblading hurt?

The level of discomfort that occurs when the coloring pigment is introduced depends on the individual characteristics of the person and his skin type. But in general, the procedure causes pain, although not as strong as with a full tattoo. In order to reduce discomfort, experts recommend using special pain-relieving ointments and creams.

Care after microblading

Soft tissue swelling goes away 1-2 hours after microblading. During the first days, it is advisable not to wash your face with foams and scrubs; it is forbidden to use a hard washcloth. It is better to wipe your face with wet wipes, avoiding the eyebrow area. To speed up the rehabilitation period, it is prohibited:

  • The first week, engage in sports and active recreation.
  • Rub and comb your eyebrows, even if they itch (stroke with clean hands if you can’t stand the itch).
  • Exfoliate, do makeup.
  • Visiting a sauna, solarium, swimming pool, this can open wounds, increase the healing time, and there is also a possibility of losing the applied pigment.
  • Take a hot shower, sunbathe under the sun.
  • Peeling off the crusts yourself, ugh... just imagining it, it gives me goosebumps
