Facial mesotherapy: what is this procedure and do you need it?

Mesotherapy is a cosmetic injection procedure in which amino acids and beneficial minerals are delivered to the skin. The introduction of a meso-cocktail allows you to get rid of many aesthetic problems, stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, and improves blood microcirculation. Mesotherapy is used to combat dry skin, dark circles under the eyes, uneven facial contours and even wrinkles. The procedure is effective in treating acne. Mesotherapy also helps in the fight against local fat deposits - it promotes weight loss, destruction of adipose tissue and improvement of skin condition. A course of mesotherapy can be carried out as an independent measure in the fight against cellulite or as part of a complex therapy.

Meso-cocktail injections are used in the treatment of hair loss. Injections are made into the scalp.

History of the procedure

The procedure was first tested by a doctor from France, Michel Pistor: in 1952, he subcutaneously injected a complex of vitamins into his patient. The effectiveness appeared immediately, Pistor continued his research and found out that the same drug, which is administered to different points of the body and in different doses, will give a different therapeutic effect.

The procedure has changed noticeably by now: now mesotherapy allows you to achieve the desired result - rejuvenation and getting rid of aesthetic defects - which lasts for 1-1.5 years.

Contraindications

Facial mesotherapy has a fairly small list of contraindications, including:

  • period of pregnancy and breastfeeding;
  • oncological diseases;
  • hypersensitivity to any of the components of the drugs;
  • acute inflammatory and infectious diseases;
  • bleeding disorders;
  • psoriasis;
  • hepatitis;
  • HIV;
  • epilepsy;
  • severe autoimmune diseases;
  • diabetes;
  • taking anticoagulants, antibiotics;
  • tendency to form keloid scars (except for hardware mesotherapy of the face).

In such cases, you should abandon the idea of carrying out the procedure. In this case, the cosmetologist is obliged to check for contraindications before performing mesotherapy, which may require certain laboratory tests.

It is also not recommended for women to carry out the procedure a few days before the onset of menstruation, immediately during its course and in the next 2-3 days. This is due to the fact that during this period not only sensitivity to pain increases, but also the risk of hematoma formation increases.

How does the procedure work?

Mesotherapy injections include several stages. It all starts with a consultation: the doctor talks to you, finds out what exactly you plan to correct with the help of the procedure, selects the drug and the required dosage.

Then it cleanses your face of traces of cosmetics and impurities, and treats the injection area with an antiseptic. The next stage is the application of topical anesthesia. Thanks to this, mesotherapy does not leave any unpleasant sensations. In front of you, the specialist prints out the individual packaging of the drug and injection, and performs intradermal injections according to the chosen scheme. Then the skin is re-treated with an antiseptic and a soothing cream is applied.

After completing the procedure, Cleo Line staff will tell you how to care for the treated area.

How much does facial mesotherapy cost – price 2022

If you decide to undergo facial mesotherapy, the price for 1 procedure will depend on the cost of the drugs administered, as well as the pricing policy of the clinic. In advertising you can often see that for facial mesotherapy the cost of 1 procedure starts from only 2,500 rubles, however, if we are talking about high-quality drugs, then this amount is only the minimum cost of consumables.

For example, we decided to do a lymphatic drainage vascular injection with the drug “GAG Complex DVL Capyl”. Only its cost for 2021 will be 300 rubles. Then we take the cost of one of the above drugs - this is another 800 to 1400 rubles. You also need all kinds of consumables (several expensive 30 and 32G needles for injections, sterile sheets, gloves, the cost of anesthesia and many other little things) - that’s another few hundred rubles. Thus, 1600-2000 rubles is only the cost of materials.

But prices should take into account the costs of training a mesotherapist, and rent, and depreciation of equipment, and wages. Typically, for frequent cosmetologists the markup is + 100-150%, and for private cosmetology clinics the markup is + 150-200% (to the cost of all consumables). Thus, the normal price, for example, for the above complex with vascular injection and the drug “Hydro Line Extra” should be at least 4000-4500 rubles.

Important: but if we take more expensive drugs from a series of biorevitalizants, for example, “Nucleospire DNA-RNA 2%” (2.0 ml), only the cost of which is 4000 rubles, then the final cost of the service together with the vascular injection should not cost any less 9000 rubles. And here we gradually come to the question of why some patients have negative reviews of mesotherapy, and they say that it does not work. Yes, simply because, for example, cosmetologists almost never perform capillary mesotherapy on patients.

The latter takes a lot of time (and time is money), plus it takes a long time to explain to patients why this is needed at all. It's easier not to do it at all. Secondly, the right drugs and their combinations are not always used - which we told you so much about above. As a rule, this is due to the low qualifications of specific mesotherapists. Well, as we have already said, in older patients with well-groomed skin, mesotherapy of the neck and face will not give a good effect; other drugs are needed.

Who performs the procedure

In the clinic, mesotherapy injections are performed only by experienced, qualified specialists with specialized education. All doctors who work at Cleo Line have received not only their main specialty. They have also undergone professional retraining in cosmetology, constantly improve their skills, and participate in trainings and master classes. The specialists are assisted by cosmetology nurses who also have the necessary professional knowledge.

The experience and education of each clinic specialist can be found on his personal page.

Compound

Like any other mesotherapy drug, Nucleonix is developed on the basis of hyaluronate.

In addition, Nucleonix for mesotherapy includes:

  • DNA nucleotides contained in X-ADN and responsible for protein synthesis;
  • green tea extract, which slows down the aging process;
  • microelements of spirulina algae, stimulating cellular renewal;
  • phytoestrogens.

The drug works at the level of cellular metabolism, stimulating cellular immunity and slowing down the processes of age-related and photoaging.

DNA nucleotides:

  1. are the basis of all intracellular processes,
  2. activate protein production,
  3. participate in the process of cell renewal.

Under the influence of the drug, the top layer of skin is renewed in two to three weeks.

Green tea is an indirect lipolytic. Tea polyphenols inhibit collagenase activity, have phytoestrogenic activity, and have an antitumor effect.

Spirulina is an algae rich in proteins, lipids and amino acids.

Normalizes cholesterol levels in the blood and the functioning of the immune system. Spirulina contains vitamins A, C and E, as well as tocopherol. Is a powerful antioxidant.

Plant phytoestrogens have a dual effect: estrogenic and antioxidant. Resist dermal damage caused by estrogen deficiency.

Recovery period

The recovery period after mesotherapy for facial skin and hair is minimal. The usual precautions are the same as after any other injection procedure:

  • Do not wash your face in the first 8 hours after the procedure; if necessary, it is better to treat your face with an antiseptic (not alcohol!);
  • Avoid cosmetics for 1-2 days;
  • For 2-3 days you need to give up the sauna, steam bath, hot bath and swimming pool;
  • It is better to postpone sports for the same 2-3 days;
  • Within 5-7 days after mesotherapy, you should not visit or carry out aggressive cosmetic procedures - for example, it is better to postpone chemical acid peeling to a later date;
  • You should avoid visiting the solarium for the entire course of mesotherapy.

Biorevitalization

Biorevitalization is considered a more physiological method of replenishing hyaluronate in the body. As a result of the procedure, metabolic processes are activated, regeneration and rejuvenation of the skin occurs.

Today, this technique is especially popular among the fair sex for eliminating wrinkles in the eyes, nose, lips and other areas of the face and body.

In addition, biorevitalization and mesotherapy are prescribed before contouring; for this, pure hyaluronic acid is introduced, which is the main active ingredient.

This substance is often used for dermatological diseases, since hyaluron is absolutely non-allergenic, dissolves quickly and immediately begins to act when it enters the body.

After biorevitalization, facial skin becomes young and renewed due to the restoration of its structure and deep hydration.

Biorevitalization is carried out in 2 ways, namely using a laser and injections. During the procedure, hyaluronic acid of non-animal origin is injected under the skin, since it remains in the soft tissues much longer and stimulates cell regeneration.

The price of biorevitalization depends on the following factors: the age of the woman, the cost of the drug used. The fact is that at 30, 40, 50 years old, the dosages will vary, as will the number of sessions.

As practice shows, this procedure is a safer method of rejuvenation, since complications after it appear in rare cases. And yet biorevitalization also has contraindications:

  • allergies to medications used during the procedure;
  • oncological diseases;
  • autoimmune diseases;
  • exacerbation of chronic pathologies.

If complications arise after biorevitalization, they usually go away within a few days. Most often observed:

  • bruises at injection sites;
  • redness of the skin in some areas;
  • edema.

Usually the above complications disappear within 1 week, in rare cases it takes a little longer.

Advantages and disadvantages

The procedure has many advantages:

  • Safe composition of the drug;
  • Wide range of indications;
  • Efficiency;
  • Increased skin turgor;
  • Improved complexion;
  • Help in treating acne;
  • Elimination of rosacea;
  • Normalization of sebum production;
  • Lifting effect;
  • Lightening pigment spots;
  • Relief leveling;
  • Stimulation of hair growth on the head;

  • Age category: used for preventive purposes in patients over 30 years of age.
  • Therapeutic method: introduced under the skin by performing mesotherapy or biorevitalization.

  • Indications: the cocktail is used to prevent aging in young patients in order to awaken the natural barrier functions of the skin. Also indicated for dehydration, excessive porosity, acne proneness, and photoaging.

Result

After the procedure, the oval of the face is tightened, wrinkles and skin creases are smoothed out. The condition of the skin improves: the tone returns, the relief is evened out, the skin literally glows. “Bags” and “dark circles” under the eyes are reduced. Thanks to the activation of internal resources, a positive effect in the treatment of acne is achieved - the number of inflammations and their severity are noticeably reduced. An anti-aging effect is observed. With scalp mesotherapy, hair loss activity is reduced. If mesotherapy is carried out on the body, the amount of adipose tissue decreases, the skin texture is evened out, and the appearance of cellulite is reduced.

To achieve the best effect, mesotherapy is performed in a course. Cleo Line doctors determine the number and frequency of procedures for each patient on an individual basis.

Reviews and opinions of doctors about the procedure

Danilkova Oksana Igorevna

Mesotherapy for me belongs to the category of “favorite” procedures. By introducing certain drugs, be it vitamins, microelements, amino acids, peptides and other biologically active substances, they are precisely targeted to the area where they are now needed. This allows you to work very accurately in the dermis and in the scalp and in places of local fat deposits. Procedures are carried out frequently - once a week and for a long time - at least 7-10 times. But this is the only inconvenience. Many of my patients return to mesotherapy again, which means they like the result!

Belova Elena Andreevna

In my work, I often prescribe mesotherapy for many problems (dry and dull complexion, cellulite, hair loss, pigmentation, scars, stretch marks, rosacea, etc.) and see a clinically pronounced effect from the course of procedures. The composition of the drug for this purpose is determined solely individually, depending on the desired result. I can compare the skin to growing a flower, because it needs watering, care, nutrition, sometimes removing excess leaves, protection from the scorching sun (well, if it’s not a cactus), and the skin of patients often needs the same thing: moisturize, nourish with vitamins and microelements, give antioxidant protection, improve microcirculation. And mesotherapy copes with this task remarkably well.

Mesotherapy at home –

Mesotherapy at home is possible using special devices. The most effective is the use of a fractional mesotherapy device called DermaPen. This device is easy to use and costs only 6,000 rubles, which is quite a bit compared to the cost of a full course of mesotherapy. A cheaper version of this device are mesoscooters.

The latter are also effective for solving aesthetic problems, but due to some features of mesoscooters (you can read about them at the link below) - when used regularly, they lead to roughening of the facial skin. But the use of DermaPen does not lead to such consequences. In addition, both of these fractional mesotherapy devices are more effective against atrophic acne scars than the classic injection technique. However, you can get the maximum effect here - from a combination of DermaPen + injections of nucleotides and matrikin peptides.

There are also devices for needle-free mesotherapy based on iontophoresis (Fig. 16), which can be bought in special medical stores. With this technique, the skin is not injured by needles, and the device increases the permeability of the skin for mesotherapy serums. For iontophoresis procedures, mesoscooters and DermaPen, specially designed serums containing only low molecular weight active substances should be used.
