Unlike previous models, the EP 200 cannot continuously adjust the exposure time. There are 4 options for duration of exposure for vellus, normal, medium and large hair. In fact, this setting determines the time it takes (according to empirical data from Biomak engineers) to remove hair of a given thickness using one method or another. If we talk about thermolysis or electrolysis separately, then the higher the current, the less time it takes to remove a hair. For a blend, the time is calculated a little more cunningly: the smaller the contribution of thermolysis, the greater the contribution of electrolysis is needed to remove a hair of a given thickness. This restriction acts as a protection against newcomers.

This Russian device implements the following methods of electrolysis: thermolysis, blend and flash. The output power is only 15 W, but this is enough for hair removal. I also found it strange how the device implements the blend method. I have no personal experience of use, so it is possible that these are just features of the graphic image in the user manual, but judging by it, direct current (electrolysis) is supplied first and alternating current (thermolysis) is applied only at the end. In Biomak EP 200, the thermolysis component is turned on with a slight delay at the beginning, because, if you remember, its task is to speed up the chemical reaction so that more liquor is produced in less time.

Galatea also produces the KOEP-01 device, which allows additional coagulation and electrophoresis, but it costs twice as much as POLLY RE. Both devices need a break about once every half hour.

None of these devices can be classified as professional; they do not have modern programs with ultrashort pulses, which are perceived less painfully. But they work, and they're affordable. Remember that in electrolysis it is not the device that is important, but the skills of getting into the follicle and hair niche.
